Summary
Pratt & Whitney’s GTF MRO Engine Center in West Palm Beach is looking for an experienced Aftermarket Engineer (P3) to provide support in repair process development, and manufacturing operations support functions as engines are inducted into, and progress through the shop. The person in this role will ensure a smooth Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) process, while working to meet external and internal customer expectations for quality, cost, and delivery timeline commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop operational work scopes per WPB MRO requirements in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145 using engine maintenance program (EMP), customer specific work scopes (SMI), “As-received” induction results, existing service bulletins and approved deviations.
Address customer inquiries as it pertains to work scope determination and approval
Address in process findings effects on work scope
Assist in producing and managing engine teardown plans along with repair and rebuild activities based on in-process conditions experienced.
Generate engine shop visit reports summarizing work accomplished and providing part condition and disposition information.
Comply with all government regulations, regulatory requirements, company policies, repair station procedures and work instructions including Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and International Trade Compliance requirements.
Support Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) activities as required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of Engineering experience within Manufacturing, Military, Aerospace or Aviation industry; OR Advanced degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in STEM field; Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering fields preferred.
Advanced knowledge and experience working with gas turbine engines particularly in an FAA Repair Station MRO environment
Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, FAA repairmen’s certificate, or equivalent
Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 145 as it pertains to a repair station Quality requirements
Ability to interpret of ATA 100 technical manuals, engine manuals and blueprints.
Organizational and project management skills; PMP certification preferred
Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles, and/or LEAN, CORE, ACE, or Six-Sigma training.
Experience working with Solumina MES, Teamcenter, SAP ERP, and MS Office Suite.
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior level management.
