At Calgaz, we are seeking a dedicated and impactful QHSE Engineer to join our facility in Oldsmar, FL. The QHSE Engineer contributes essential expertise in implementing, maintaining, and advancing our Quality Management and Integrated Management Systems (QMS & IMS), ensuring full compliance with international standards including ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 11118, and ISO 17034, as applicable.

Balancing thorough quality control methodologies with modern workflow automation, this position guides supplier and customer quality, fosters collaborative problem-solving, supports effective CAPA, and enables key operational and export workflows across cross-functional teams.

Ideally, you bring clear and empathetic communication skills, an ability to effectively manage priorities, alongside well-rounded Quality & Safety Assurance experience within a manufacturing environment.

Quality Assurance, ISO Compliance & Safety

• Maintain and uphold compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 11118, and ISO 17034 standards, as applicable, by guiding internal audit schedules and serving as main contact and site facilitator for both third-party external certification audits and internal corporate driven audits.
• Facilitate and coordinate the implementation of the Airgas and Calgaz QMS (Quality Management System) and IMS (Industrial Management System), supporting the Global Quality & IMS managers direction.
• Manage and support the Intelex platform, maintaining controlled quality documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process visual aids.
• Facilitate structured root cause analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and 8D investigations to constructively resolve operational discrepancies and non-conformances.
• Where required, support the calibration, inspection, and maintenance of precision measuring equipment, maintaining detailed calibration logs and vendor certifications.
• Review, assess, and share quality-related ‘Key Performance Indicators’ (KPIs) with leadership, proactively identifying operational bottlenecks, areas of concern or risk, and potential continuous improvement projects as a result of the analysis.
• Ensure full commitment to all Airgas and Calgaz safety policies, which includes supporting Good Catches, Safety Engagements and Task Observations.
• Inter-plant collaboration to support best practices.

Supplier & Customer Quality Management

• Serve as a key technical resource for key suppliers regarding local supplier quality concerns. Provide clear information internally and to suppliers for concern reviews.
• Manage local return material authorizations (RMAs), support Customer Services with credit adjustment details where required, and issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) where necessary.
• Manage local complaint resolutions using our communications and QMS online platforms, supporting other Calgaz locations as required, ensuring closure deadlines outlined within the QMS are met.
• Coordinate investigations alongside process owners into customer complaints and product failures, preparing technical investigation reports (8D reports) and establishing sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence.

Operational & Cross-Functional Support

• Utilize SAP for quality management functions, including inventory block/release, quality notifications, and data reporting as required.
• Coordinate local compliance requests, using the compliance management system to generate Declarations of Conformance, as required.
• Provide hands-on, collaborative quality support and troubleshooting to manufacturing and assembly teams.
• Track site Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance training records and ensure the local training matrices are kept up to date.
• Identify workflow automation opportunities to minimize manual administrative overhead and enhance cross-departmental efficiency.

Are you a MATCH?

Qualifications & Requirements

• 3+ years of proven experience in a quality assurance or operational excellence role within a regulated manufacturing environment.

• Demonstrable knowledge of ISO 9001 and preferably ISO 17025, ISO 11118, and ISO 17034 compliance frameworks as well.

• Hands-on expertise using Quality Management System platforms (Intelex preferred) and enterprise systems (SAP).

• Proven expertise in applying structured problem-solving methodologies (5-Why, Ishikawa/Fishbone, 8D, CAPA).

• Proficiency with calibration procedures, precision instruments, and inventory control protocols.

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a customer-centric focus.

• Proven ability to develop training materials, lead auditor sessions, and cross-train shop floor personnel.

• Proficient in using A.I tools, preferably Gemini and Google Apps related.

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Management Systems, Operations, or related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
