Collins Mission Systems is seeking a senior Competitive Strategy and Price-to-Win (PTW) analyst to support our Business Development (BD) Operations Excellence organization.  As part of the Competitive Intelligence (CI) and PTW team, this is a dynamic position supporting multiple projects and efforts across different markets and business units within Collins Mission Systems. This is a remote position; relocation is not required but occasional travel may be required.

The focus of this role will be to provide Position-to-Win (PoTW) and PTW support for top pursuits across Collins Mission Systems. This is a senior level analyst position requiring advanced skills for developing PoTW analysis and recommendations, providing PTW training and support to BD teams, conducting competitive analysis and price strategy recommendations, and contributing to enhanced modeling and tool capabilities. As a senior analyst, this role is expected to help lead key project initiatives to advance the team’s PoTW/PTW capabilities, provide innovative thought leadership as well as mentor/train junior analysts and capture team partners.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ethically conduct primary and secondary competitive intelligence research on specific competitors.

  • Develop detailed estimates of competitor bid prices based on competitive intelligence, personal research and individual competitor knowledge.  

  • Develop mathematically-based confidence intervals for PTWs based on the underlying statistical models.

  • Regularly justify and defend his/her analysis, conclusions and recommendations to senior Business Development and Capture Team Leads, frequently including business Vice Presidents and on occasion to the company President.

  • Assist in determining Collins strategies to achieve a winning offering, including developing alternative Price Strategies to achieve the PTW

  • Support Black Hat competitive reviews through early price analysis, Pwin assessments and win strategy discussions.

  • Conduct deep dive Win/Loss assessments for lessons learned and improvements for win strategy development and PoTW/PTW capabilities.

  • Conduct independent research on such topics as market opportunities, competitive positions, research and development trends, and international customer buying behavior.

  • Continuously improve business acumen through classes, independent research, color team reviews, and symposia.

  • Work with partner organizations in related areas of strategic and market analytics, capture strategy, and business development operations management. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or

  • An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or

  • In absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience

  • 8+ years of experience in U.S. Defense Industry; 3+ years of PTW and/or Competitive Intelligence Analyst experience

  • Demonstrated ability to develop competitive intelligence analysis on competitors and markets

  • Demonstrated expertise in performing PoTW/PTW analysis, with documented accuracy across multiple markets and acquisition types

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and modeling skills (pivot tables, formulas)

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing statistical analyses for PTWs

  • Ability to communicate PoTW/PTW, Price Strategy and Cost Credibility concepts effectively to diverse and executive audiences

  • Ability to travel to Collins and Collins Customer locations as frequently as needed

The salary range for this role is 139,000 USD - 277,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
