ABOUT THIS ROLE
Based in Berlin, the Associate Director, Publisher Relations DE is a key member of the German Publisher Relations team, reporting to the Director of Publisher Relations DE. In this role, you will build and manage a portfolio of publisher partnerships that directly impact the depth, breadth, and performance of Audible's spoken-word catalogue for German audiences. You will generate, negotiate, and close complex deals with major German publishers, drive strategic initiatives that shape Audible's position in the German market, and serve as a trusted partner and strategic advisor to leadership.

As an Associate Director, Publisher Relations DE, you will...
- Maintain and grow relationships with publishers and audio book publishers and negotiate business and legal terms
- Independently manage, prioritize, and execute complex deal flow, structuring, negotiating, and executing deals that support Audible’s content strategy
- Develop a partner level strategy to get the best performance from partner catalogues
- Develop financial models and deal evaluations to assess partnership opportunities, providing data-driven recommendations that inform negotiation strategy and business decisions
- Collaborate closely with the local European and global Audible teams to foster synergies and efficiencies across our Publisher Relations efforts to serve our European audiences and publishers
- Lead and support strategic projects that strengthen Audible's market position in Germany, including business model innovation, operational improvements, and cross-functional initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Content Finance, Legal, Marketing, Product, and Analytics to structure deals and drive successful partnership outcomes

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in deal-making, business development, partnership management, or related roles within entertainment, media, content, or publishing industries
- Business fluency in German and English (written and spoken)

Preferred Qualifications:

- Good understanding of the German book industry and an overview about trends in the audiobook segment
- Negotiation proficiency in French, Spanish or Italian
- Strong communication skillset with the ability to effectively communicate complex deal terms in a convincing and simple manner
- Accurate and detail oriented as a complimentary skill to complement your know-how on negotiation and licensing
- Data analysis skills to drive business strategy in combination with solution orientation
- Reliability, proactive and clearly structured approach in your work
- Ability to operate in a high-energy, high-intensity and rapidly evolving environment
- Ability to communicate clearly, calm and business goal orientated, also in difficult negotiations and under narrow timelines
