This position is for an intern who will be entering their (Junior, senior or Post Graduate) year by the start of summer 2024

The Air Defense Ground Equipment (ADGE) Department leads mechanical design, development, and integration of platform systems. This includes shelter systems, hardware integration, and cable & interconnections. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design, integration, and production support.

The department is seeking a Mechanical Engineering intern to support design and development efforts in such areas as mechanical systems, thermal systems, materials, test equipment, hardware processes, or manufacturing processes. The position is for a Hybrid role within the Missiles & Launcher Equipment Team in Tewksbury, MA. You would apply your skills to contribute to the design, development and testing of mechanical and/or electro-mechanical systems, instruments, controls, and/or machines.

This position is a hybrid role, and the selected applicant will work with the hiring manager to set schedule.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• Training and application of RTX tools including CREO and PDM
• Design and Documentation support utilizing engineering tools, Adobe, and MS office suite
• Engineering Change and Drawing Release
• Collaboration with coworkers and diverse teams
• Training on Raytheon processes and procedures

This position can be a technical intern based on the candidate's classification as determined by grad year on resume and provided via questionnaire by candidate as outlined below:

• (Junior Technical) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program
• (Senior Technical) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program
• (Post-Graduate Technical) must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications) by start of internship

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be Junior, Senior or Post Graduate by the start of summer 2024 in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field
• Experience utilizing CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools such as CREO or equivalent
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3.5 or above cumulative GPA desired
• Prior engineering project or internship experience
• Experience with Windchill PDM
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Microsoft Office or other presentation tools
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with coworkers on cross-function teams from diverse communities and cultures
• Demonstrate the ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles
