Summary

The Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center has an immediate opening for a Facilities & Services Coordinator (T5) to be based in Columbus, GA.   The person in this role will support facilities maintenance, services provisioning, and contract coordination related to our Commercial and Military engine programs and work across multiple plants to support large-scale projects, new equipment installation, annual service expenses, and capital investments.

In this role you will work with architects, engineers, general contractors, and various construction trades to coordinate a well-defined schedule for facilities projects. You will work within the company’s procurement process to achieve competitive pricing across all required vendors, contribute to all pre-approval planning activities for assigned projects and work with Space Planning to build ROM budgets, and manage capital allocations.

You will drive assigned projects through the decision-making process for approvals, and then on through to project completion. You will lead regular facilities and services status and outage coordination meetings. Analyze and report on budget variances and track cost metrics to support ROM budgeting on other projects. Maintain a well-documented project folder and lead team tools for cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leader within the facilities and services team including facilities projects and maintenance, life-safety, engineering, cafeteria services, janitorial services, mechanical and electrical services. Strong mechanical and electrical infrastructure background specifically relating to large manufacturing operations.

  • Represent facilities and make decisions which commit resources and impact the business response of facilities. Manage and drive customer focus within all areas of operational activities and ensure that effective relationships are maintained with key customer contacts, stakeholders, and the F&S Team.

  • Define and articulate the detail scope of work and the detailed requirements of a Facilities action to contractors and maintenance staff. Manage and assess the facility infrastructure to assure its continued functionality. Selectively monitor critical facilities actions to completion. Act as an advisor to subordinates or staff to articulate common goals and layout a tactical plan to solve problems.

  • Analyze financial information and communicate impact to team and customer. Oversight and management of targeted maintenance contracts and selective outside services and other miscellaneous supplemental services. Understand and maintain compliance with Safety training, laws, codes, and regulations. Assess risk and develop mitigation plans while keeping progress moving forward. Oversee internal facility requests to ensure that facilities and services efforts are properly planned, resourced, and executed in line with documented project delivery and design development procedures. Skilled in facilities management methods and tools to properly scope, budget, schedule and manage successful projects.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or Technical / Trade School graduate and 8+ years of experience; OR high school diploma and 12+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing plant operations and equipment ideally in an Aftermarket MRO site.

  • Experience managing parts, PMs, and inventory in a fast-paced facility environment.

  • Prior use of computer maintenance management (CMM) system consisting of work orders, preventative maintenance, equipment records, purchasing, parts and materials specification, and spares.

  • Ability to read and work from blueprints and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles, and/or LEAN, CORE, ACE, or Six-Sigma training.

  • Organizational and project management skills, PMP certification preferred.

  • Experience working with Computer Maintenance Management (CMM) system, Preventive Maintenance (PM) system, SAP ERP, and MS Office.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve business goals.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior level management.
