This position is for an intern who will be entering their Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Post-Graduate year by the start of summer 2024.

Job Summary:  

This internship position is in support of an integral 24/7 Operations environment. This will provide an opportunity for exposure to many of the day to day activities of this highly dynamic team.

As an intern you will be assigned a mentor and given a project to complete during your internship.

Due to the security clearance requirement needed one day 1 of employment, this internship can be worked on a full or part-time basis around required class work once the clearance process is complete.

This position is an onsite role – Las Cruces, New Mexico

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• Create and/or implement a daily operations plan using complex software and hardware systems.
• Obtain/maintain technical knowledge of a large repository of formal procedures with the responsibility to accurately select and apply the correct procedure(s) depending on the specific scenario at hand. 
• Obtain/apply technical knowledge on various hardware subsystems.
• Document discrepancies as they occur. Implement workarounds and contingency plans to minimize impacts of system anomalies.
• Contribute to the testing, readiness, training, and implementation of new ground software deliveries.
• Cross-train in other operator positions as assigned and assist with training of other personnel on the contract team.
• Support test activities as necessary.

This position can be a Freshman Technical Intern, Sophomore Technical Intern, Junior Technical Intern, Senior Technical Intern, or Post-Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's classification as determined by grad year on resume and provided via questionnaire by candidate as outlined below:

Freshman Technical Intern- must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program .

Sophomore Technical Intern- must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program .

Junior Technical Intern- must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program .

Senior Technical Intern- must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program .

Post-Graduate Technical Intern - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Post-Graduate grade level by the start of summer 2024 in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/ SCI with Counter Intelligence Polygraph U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working in a virtual team environment
• Proficient use of both Windows and UNIX platform
• Experience with Perl, Python, VBA, and/or other scripting languages
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
