We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Specialist, Contracts

supporting the Space Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (SISR) mission area within the Space Systems Strategic Business Unit (SBU). This role will support the Consolidated Intelligence Development & Operations (CIDO) Product Area. As a key member of this Contract's team, this position will support the day-to-day contract execution for several prime and subcontract programs that focus on delivering and sustaining complex software-based systems to support our Intelligence Community and the Department of Defense customers.

The position will report directly to the Contracts Manager within the CIDO Product Area and will need to collaborate closely with various Program Managers and Cross-functional teams. Position can be supported from either Richardson, TX, Aurora, CO or Dulles, VA.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Interface with customers for correspondence, contractual changes and contractual issues

  • Influence others through the explanation of facts, policies and practices

  • Investigate and resolve contractual matters by critically thinking, gathering detailed information, seeking innovative contracting techniques, and proactively collaborating with relevant stakeholders

  • Provide advice/guidance on contractual rights/obligations, regulations, and policy/procedure to mitigate risks and unauthorized changes

  • Review proposals to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements, represent a balanced risk/opportunity posture and deliver a financially sound business case while meeting company policies and standards

  • Occasional travel to other domestic Raytheon sites and customer locations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance (TS/SCI) is required prior to start date

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Experience in government or defense contracting such as administration/management of cost-type contracts, fixed-price type contracts, USG DoD contracts and/or Other Transaction Agreements

  • Experience in proposals development

  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver solutions and contribute to results

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with geographically disperse internal and external partners

  • Have strong decision making within a defined framework

  • Able to use clear and concise written and verbal communications

  • Self-motivated to identify own learning opportunities and engagement

  • Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Work Locations:

The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD - 161,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
