This position supervises entry to intermediate professional level employees or team leaders of technical / business support employees in Materials & Logistics, sets day-to-day goals, oversees materials management and logistics activities, audits inventory levels, trains direct reports, and reconciles discrepancies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Guides materials management and logistics activities to ensure materials are effectively stocked and deployed.
  • Trains direct reports to ensure policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed.
  • Implements and monitors inventory control systems to ensure effective logistics deployment.
  • Audits inventory levels to ensure accuracy of materials.
  • Troubleshoots and reconciles large discrepancies to ensure compliance of standards to ensure effective materials management and smooth logistics deployment.
  • Reviews configuration changes to evaluate impact on logistics deployment.
  • Plans, schedules and manages the efficient movement of material from receiving, the warehouse or production through shipping in support of 95% on time delivery to the customer.
  • Manages material inventory, supplier integration strategies (VMI/3PL/supermarkets) and import/export controls.
  • Partners with outside sources on packaging strategies.
  • Manages continuous improvement projects and efforts.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Experience with SAP 
  • Experience in application and concepts of Production and Planning Control fundamentals including MRP, Inventory Management, Capacity Planning, Scheduling, and Lean Manufacturing 
  • Experience leading people
  • Experience in Lean concepts
