Job Summary:

Pratt & Whitney Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles (MSEN) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of gas turbine engines. The MSEN Mil Demo Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) is responsible for design, development, and validation of bearing compartment components, accessory gearbox, and externals architecture.

The MSEN Mil Demo project team is looking for an energetic MSEN IPT Lead/Project Engineer. The selected candidate will work on the mechanical systems team managing bearing compartment work, limits work, and cost management tasks.

Accountable to CIPT for part level ownership, including communication, risk management and execution to program requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as IPT Lead for the Front Bearing Compartment (FBC).

  • Serve as Program Cost Management Team (PCMT) Focal for Mil Demo for MSEN org.

  • Serve as primary backup for the Validation Manager.

  • Participate in System Integrated Product Team (SIPT), Integrated Program Management Team (IPMT) and Engine Design and System Integration Team (EDSIT) meetings.

  • Works collaboratively in a dynamic environment and a highly motivated team player to step into a challenging role on a development program.

  • 5% travel requirement

​​Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

  • 2+ years of prior relevant experience

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding the P&W Leadership Operating Model (LOM).

  • Demonstrated ability to engage cross-functional teams, as needed, and knows when/where to get help.

  • Focus on results with the ability to drive tasks to closure.

  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.

  • Active Secret Security Clearance.

  • Thorough understanding of continuous improvement principles (e.g. CORE).

  • Proficiency in use of program/project management tools (e.g. SAP, Teamcenter).

  • Knowledgeable of AGILE project management practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to execute work independently.
