Job Summary:

Pratt & Whitney's Mature Commercial Engines Aftermarket Fleet Management group is seeking a leader (M5) for its FPA Material Management team based in San Francisco, CA. Pratt & Whitney is undergoing significant growth and is poised to be a leader in commercial engine sales and engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) activities. Our aftermarket material programs are key elements of our business, on the front line with the customer and play a key role in driving the Company’s profitability.

Our team is responsible for ensuring the execution of our guaranteed Material Maintenance Plans and Fixed Price Agreements which are part of our family of Engine Wise customer focused maintenance services offerings. We work hand in hand with an operator to provide material management and logistics expertise in support of their fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively leading the daily operation of the FPA team and office operations at United Airlines’ SFO facility. Leading customer business review meetings and preparing executive communications.

  • Ensuring that the FPA contract is executed while delivering a high-quality customer experience.

  • Meeting commitments to our business: delivering services on time and keeping the contract on budget.

  • Financial tracking of contract performance, monthly invoicing, reporting and forecasts.

  • Negotiating to resolve conflicts to achieve a beneficial outcome for both Pratt & Whitney (PW) and the customer.

  • Developing standard work, tools and methods that are state of the art and on par with other groups within PW and the industry.

  • Assist and supplement work being done by the team (Material Management, Technical and Warehouse)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or business field of study and 10+ years of work experience to include a customer facing experience, people management, operations management within a aerospace or manufacturing environment, or an Advanced Degree in a STEM or business field of study and 7+ years of work experience to include a customer facing experience, people management, operations management within a aerospace or manufacturing environment.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The selected candidate will utilize strong teamwork and business acumen skills to lead the team of technical managers, material managers and analysts that perform technical evaluations in addition to financial and data analyses.

  • A fundamental understanding of gas turbine engines, airline operations or engine maintenance practices.

  • Prior application of continuous improvement methodologies/tools/practices in former positions held.

  • Demonstrated aptitude with respect to financial analysis/management and/or contracts/contract management.

The salary range for this role is 123,000 USD - 259,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
