Job Summary:

  • 2nd shift hours are Monday - Friday 3:00PM-11:30PM
  • Set up and operate simple machines or equipment; operate other grouped simple machines or equipment types to produce parts where methods and processes are well developed and proper tooling and fixtures are provided. Transport parts, raw material and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work from operation sheets, drawings, computer generated information and verbal instructions, obtain specified equipment, tools and gages to machine, fabricate and finish a variety of production parts.
  • Perform bench assembly and finishing operations as assigned, using a variety of hand held tools, power tools and other equipment to process parts during various stages of manufacturing operations.
  • Perform part preparatory function including various methods of grit blast, shot peening, masking and routine oven operations to clean parts or condition surfaces for coatings.
  • Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments to check dimensions. Record results and enter information into computer data systems as required.
  • Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions such as operator’s check list for upkeep and to assure equipment operates properly.
  • Assist others who are responsible for new equipment or process tryout and other specialized assignments within the scope and skill level of this job description.
  • Refer problems to leader/supervisor as appropriate to resolve difficulties.
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual’s skills.
  • ​May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned area.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6 months of work experience with machining methods or equivalent of 1 year of technical training
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent

Additional Information:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
