Job Summary:

Product Safety, Certification & Validation (PSCV) is looking for a motivated, high-energy individual to work as the Deputy Validation Manager on the F135 Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) program.  The qualified individual will work with the ECU Validation Manager and the System Integration Product Team (SIPT) in establishing and managing the program validation plan. This position will also involve working with the Program Office and SIPT in performing Validation Deputy activities such as Monthly Program Reviews with the customer, budget reviews, manpower reviews, and SIPT/ Integrated Product Management Team (IPMT) meeting coverage. Will work closely with the Test Systems Integration Team (TSIT) lead in mapping program requirements to the engine validation plan. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal and team skills, as well as strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing business requirements.

Preferred work location is: West Palm Beach, FL, but open to working at our other P&W sites: East Hartford, CT.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance to the PSCV/Development Operations teams during the design and manufacturing phase of the ECU program.
• Coordinate with Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT)/Systems to define instrumentation requirements in alignment with target allocations for the development engines.
• Manage Key Learning Points as they relate to the Engine Development Plan (EDP) for engines and rigs.
• Collect validation requirements to create test objectives per development engine test block.
• Oversee Measurement Center new design activity.
• Coordinate assembly tooling needs and new assembly process planning instructions.
• Develop L3 schedules with the lead assembly engineers for the development engine builds.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 10+ years of experience in Engineering or 7+ years’ experience with an Advance degree
• Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
• Prior large military engine experience
• Experience working with reviewing and managing budgets.
• Experience in leading validation engine projects, leading process improvement projects, and in providing guidance to others.
• Strong communication skills, self-starter, self-driven.
