Job Summary:

In Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.
 

Raytheon is seeking an experienced Space Vehicle Systems Integration and Test Lead for a multi-satellite development and delivery program with associated ground element and operations. In this role you will provide technical leadership, engage customers/stakeholders, and lead Space Vehicle level system integration and test planning, as well as system level verification and validation of the Space Vehicles across multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and subsystems.

  • This position is an onsite role that can be performed at multiple locations in the greater Denver area.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Leading the planning and execution of Space Vehicle System-level integration, testing, and verification and validation activities
  • Providing experience-driven insight into Space vehicle subsystem integration and validation planning and execution
  • Providing experience-driven insight into Ground segment level integration and validation planning and execution
  • Ensuring the Space Vehicle hardware and software elements are successfully integrated and supporting a common System Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) plan to ensure form, fit and function meet the Space Vehicle requirements and operational needs of the customer.
  • Identify risks and mitigation plans, as well as opportunities and capture plans, to ensure successful execution of the Space Vehicle Integration and Test activities.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
  • Experience with space vehicle system and subsystem level assembly, integration, and test (AI&T)
  • Experience developing space vehicle integration and test flows, identifying test equipment needs, and AI&T plan procedure development
  • Experience documenting verification and validation approaches, plans, and procedures
  • Experience coordinating across multiple IPTs and subsystems during assembly, integration, and test to ensure a successful execution of the V&V plans for a Space Vehicle
  • Experience leading a team; experience leading an engineering team execute scope for space vehicles preferred
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance of Secret or greater is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge of Space Vehicle and subsystem analysis and design practices with expertise in at least one domain: Power, Thermal, Mechanical, Propulsion, Command and Data Handling, RF, Optical communications, and Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC)
  • Experience in a technical leadership role of a large multi-disciplined engineering team
  • Expertise with troubleshooting complex Space Vehicle systems and development of issue closure plans with coordinated solutions across internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Experience with Earned Value Management

Location Information:

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 236,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
