Job Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Welder Technician at our growing facility in Grand Prairie, TX. Dallas Airfoil Repair Operations, a recognized leader in refurbishment of aero-engine and Industrial Gas Turbine airfoils, is looking for dedicated individuals to support our organization. This position is 1st shift 6:00 a.m.  - 2:30 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow detailed directions of leader/supervisor to carry out development, repair and restoration projects for engine parts and tools. layout work requirements and obtain needed equipment to perform routine repair and alteration operations.
  • Perform tig welding operations to fabricate or restore parts and tools where close tolerances are normally required and specifically defined criteria is used, some visual wear and dimensional inspection may be required and use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments to check dimensions and record results.
  • Recognize need and arrange for repair or replacement of equipment used in performing the work as necessary.
  • Perform walk around checks and routine servicing of all equipment and machinery throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions such as operatories check list for upkeep and to assure equipment operates properly as well as maintain logs and records as requested to communicate findings and prepare requests for approval.
  • Assist others responsible for new process tryout, and other specialized assignments within the scope and skill level of this job description.
  • Perform similar duties, throughout assigned area within the scope and skill level of this job description. assist other trades working on joint projects where common skill crossover provides the opportunity for shared responsibilities and more efficient use of available skills.
  • Refer difficulties to leader/supervisor.
  • May be required to train for obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned area and carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals’ skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of previous experience in alternating current (AC) tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding
  • US Person status required due to government contract.
  • Must be able to successfully complete welding certification test.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in welding various types of metals
  • Aerospace or aircraft engine component repair
  • Continuous improvement certificates/training such as 6 Sigma Practitioner/Professional certification

Additional information:

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
