Job Summary:

Core Manufacturing Engineering in the Operational Excellence organization is hiring Deputy Program Chief Manufacturing Engineers to support the analysis of production and/or NPI development engine programs. The selected candidate will be integrated with the Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams and will act as the liaison between engineering, program, and operations. Using Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) standard work, this employee will be supporting PCMEs in identification and mitigating manufacturing and operational risk of various configurations and technology insertion projects and their associated risks.

Responsibilities:

  • Support management of MRL status/progression of one or more engine programs and reduction of Program Risks.
  • Aggregate program operational risks, engage with product and process manufacturing engineers to create mitigation plans, and leverage CIPT and IPMT for additional resources when necessary
  • Support IPT’s and Industrial Leads to identify and assess benefits, costs, and risks of different engine architectures
  • Support estimating cost of program industrialization including, but not limited to, capital equipment, staffing, and tooling
  • Support process improvement initiatives and macro planning for existing manufacturing readiness standard work and business processes

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (manufacturing, industrial, mechanical) or related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in operations and manufacturing engineering, 3+ years advanced degree
  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes, capabilities, PW products, PFMEA, and process control
  • Up to 20% travel may be required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across organizations
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
