Job Summary:

Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE) is looking for a Project Engineer with Structural Analysis experience to support Commercial Engine Rotor Overhaul and Repair. This position focuses on providing project engineering oversight and planning for the evaluation of non-conforming hardware reported by our customers and shops, followed by the authoring of required technical data for repair execution by repair engineering. The selected candidate will establish repair development plans and will be responsible for the coordination of external/internal approvals, including FAA regulatory approvals, ensuring timely repair delivery to our customers. As the Project Engineer for Structural Analysis, you are being provided with a great opportunity to have a tangible effect on P&W’s aftermarket business and impact on P&W’s airline customers. This position requires innovative and collaborative engineering skills along with onsite office and shop floor hands-on experience. The ideal candidate will have strong fundamental engineering structural analysis skills and understanding of manufacturing processes. Significant interaction with internal and external customers as well as other engineering disciplines is expected; excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Travel is less than 10%.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide project engineering support for the structural assessments of repairs of engine hardware and support Aftermarket & Sustainment (ASE) Structures Managers in the execution of repair deliverables.

  • Coordinate structural analysis requirements for repairs with module centers/ Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPTs).

  • Responsible for providing status updates on tasks through our Repair Dashboard and during status meetings.

  • Monitor progress, identify, and resolve obstacles to minimize schedule disruptions and ensuring task completion.

  • Identify schedule risk and develop/manage risk mitigation plans.

  • Providing support to ASE Structures Resources Manager in implementing our outsourcing strategy.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering.

  • 8+ years of project engineering, structures engineering, or aerospace experience or 5+ years of project engineering, structures, or aerospace experience with a Master’s in Engineering or MBA.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills. Promoter of teamwork and able to build positive relationships.

  • Experience in interfacing directly with internal and external customers, including presentations and issue resolution.

  • Structural Analysis experience including usage of ANSYS or other FEA software.

  • Familiar with Agile and/or Scrum project management methodologies.

  • Knowledge of Integrated Product Development (IPD) and Structures Engineering.

  • Proficiency with Teamcenter, MS Project or other scheduling software and SAP.

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and risk management skills.

  • Demonstrated success in leading multi-functional teams and effectiveness in working across functions, organizations, and levels of management.

  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets and schedules.

  • Awareness of manufacturing repair processes.

  • Embrace a continuous improvement philosophy.

  • Experience in aerospace or defense industries.

  • PMP certification and project engineering/management experience.

  • Ability to manage multiple project tasks concurrently.
