This position for an experienced Systems Deployment Professional who is responsible for ensuring the successful deployment of airport software, applications, and hardware, for existing and new customers across the Middle East and Africa region. The role holder will interact externally with Collins customers (end-users) and internally work with the Airports Systems Deployment and MEA Airport ops team.
This role could be based at any of the current active Collins CAS locations cross the Middle East and Africa region.
Role Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, update, and deploy airport and airline software, hardware such as common use workstations and peripherals, and 3rd Party systems across various locations, both onsite and remotely.
- Frequently interact with customers and coordinate with Airlines and Airport Authorities at airports regarding technical requirements, configurations and testing of airline and airport applications. Commission and hand over systems components
- Works with 1st and 2nd level technical support and development teams and other cross departments to assist resolving engineering issues/problems. Actively addresses performance issues and risks.
- Ensure all airport systems are correctly configured and meet the organization and customer requirements.
- Conduct system testing to verify that the deployed systems work as intended and meet quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the deployment process.
- Identify and resolve issues or conflicts that may arise during deployment.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including System Production, System Deployment, Site operational teams and various stakeholders, to ensure successful deployment.
- Continuously monitor and maintain deployed systems prior to hand-off to ensure their continued functionality and performance.
- Meet with customers to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
- Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
- Configure & Troubleshoot Network LAN equipment in addition to WLAN & security.
- Documents complex procedures and troubleshooting procedures related to systems/networks software and hardware that are deployed.
- Track and complete new deployment tasks and submission of monthly reports.
- Is open to accommodating different time zones to accommodate our regional and, when necessary, global airports/airlines customers.
Min Qualifications & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology (IT), Digital Technology (DT), Computer Sciences or a related field with at least 3 years of working experience in a customer support role for an Airports or Aviation organization with a medium to large technology infrastructure.
- Good knowledge of Airport operation systems (AODB, FIDS & RMS and System Integration)
- Good Knowledge of Airport passenger systems (CUPPS, CUSS, BRS, SBD and Biometrics)
- Experience in dealing with Airports & Airline customers across the Middle East & Africa region.
- Possesses a broad working knowledge of Special Airport Systems (SAS) /Information & Communication Technology (ICT) systems
- Experience in VPN connectivity troubleshooting and configuration.
- Experience with Security software such as Anti-virus, Anti-SPAM, Anti-Spyware, and other security related technologies.
- Cisco Certified CCNA and Microsoft certified MCSE.
- Cisco certified CCNP would be beneficial but not mandatory.
- Knowledge on VMware and ESX platforms.
- Knowledge on Windows imaging especially the use of MDT for local and PXE imaging
- Good Understanding and experience with Windows scripting.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite tools such as MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio
- Excellent Communication, written & verbal ability, in the English Language
- Knowledge and experience related to installing and configuring Airline applications and Departure Control Systems would be beneficial.
- Knowledge and experience related to System Integration and ICD (Interface Control Document) preparation and the use of applications such as Rabbit MQ, Microsoft MSMQ and BizTalk would be beneficial is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed team environment locally and globally.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills to source solutions to customer requirements or issues.
- Is willing to accommodate different time zones to support our regional and, when necessary, global airports/airlines customers.

- Ability to travel frequently (25 to 50%) across the MEA region and internationally as maybe required.
