What does the role look like?

Due to an internal promotion, we are recruiting an Operational Quality Engineer role to work within our Nacelles OE division, reporting directly into the Quality Manager.

In this role you will cover all aspects of Operational Quality by supporting fault finding, corrective actions & driving Lean/CI activities. You will have a background in Manufacturing & will have previous exposure to solving Product Quality related issues & ensuring product compliance.

Furthermore we're looking for a Quality professional with a thorough quality toolkit which includes (8D. FMEA, APQP or similar), who can communicate across all levels & be data led. In return, we'll offer training & development & full autonomy in the role.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

  • Provide guidance to fitting and test personnel to isolate the root cause of failures
  • Drive Lean/CI initiatives that will improve Product Quality related issues
  • Produce a written report to support the investigation findings
  • Provide supportive evidence in order to implement technical warranty adjudication
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure comprehensive investigation of brought out items.
  • To fully support the Quality team & clinic in achieving the business objectives.
  • To actively assist in the promotion of structured problem solving (e.g. Root Cause Analysis)

Essential skills:

  • Good understanding of logical problem solving methodology.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise personal workload.
  • Team working and collaboration skills

Desirable skills:  

  • Experience of working directly with the customer.
  • Lean / six sigma experience
  • An understanding of FMEA/APQP tools
  • Ability to organise and prioritise personal workload.
  • A good standard of computer literacy using industry wide software packages.
  • Understanding of the general engineering process.
  • Practical background or experience in applied engineering skills
