Job Summary:

Pratt & Whitney's Mechanical Systems, Externals and Nacelles (MSEN) engineering module is seeking for an experienced and highly motivated Project Engineering professional.

The project engineer supports the development of project plans, schedules and budgets, tracks progress, resolves problems, develops solutions, and forecasts project revenue. Coordinates with other functional organizations. Identifies and addresses project problems, analyzes data gathered, and develops solutions and recommendations to solve problems, meet deadlines and optimize performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage task budget and schedule in accordance with program negotiated deliverables

  • Prepare and present status and technical content to CIPT and Pratt & Whitney management

  • Assist in the development of Basis of Estimates (BOE) for government proposals

  • Monitor progress, identifies and resolves obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules to ensure smooth project operations

  • Analyzes data gathered and develops solutions or alternative methods of proceeding to optimize performance and increase efficiency of work

  • Work closely with IPT members and authorities on hardware field investigations to drive root cause and recommend product improvements

  • Lead engineering changes execution

  • Performs risks assessments and develop mitigation plan as needed   

  • Identifies and addresses project problems and recommends resolutions to ensure the successful completion of projects

  • Facilitates project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives

  • Coordinate supplier activities to meet program cost, schedule, and performance metrics.

  • Prepare and present EV status of all tasks that require EVMS

  • 10% travel requirement

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in the aerospace industry and/or project management OR 3+ years of experience with an Advanced Degree

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP, MS Project, or other project management tools software

  • Ability to build positive relationships and craft clear communication

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Focus on results with the ability to drive tasks to closure

  • Exercise good judgement with professional maturity
