Summary

The West Palm Beach (WPB) Repair Center Engineering team is seeking a Production Engineer (P3) to support our AWW weekend shift Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Operations team. This position will work closely with a broad set of internal organizations including Powerplant Engineering, Process & Methods Engineering, Operations, Quality Assurance and Materials team supporting the PW1000G engine program. Responsibilities include supporting the transition from initial rate capability to full mature production readiness with the focus on capacity and capability growth while lowering shop visit turn-around-time (TAT).  

The GTF Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Operations team is seeking a Process & Methods Engineer (P3) to support the PW1000G global network’s engine overhaul shops (U.S., Germany, Japan, Singapore).  In addition to the overhaul shops’ engineering and operations community, the position will work closely with a very broad set of organizations including Operations’ industrial readiness team, all Aftermarket support and services organizations, Engineering (CIPTs), and production build and test sites. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and validation of optimized disassembly and assembly procedures, tooling, facility equipment and software to improve TAT, reduce labor hours, and improve quality.

  • Support evaluations of shops for source approved procedures.

  • Support data analysis and project prioritization.

  • Support shop visit work-stop resolutions.

  • Identification, evaluation and implementation of best practices from production, development and MRO sites.

  • Enable shop compliance and sustainment of source approved procedures.

  • Technical data and tooling turn-backs resolution to support shop delivery commitments.

  • Work with cross functional team to resolve shop work stoppages to ensure OTD

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of Engineering experience within Manufacturing, Military, Aerospace or Aviation industry; OR Advanced degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.

  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in STEM field; Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering fields preferred.

  • Engineering experience in Systems, Test, Validation or Process Development

  • Experience within Disassembly, Assembly and Test (DAT) or Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environments supporting aircraft engines or related products.

  • Component repair utilizing complex machining, particularly in an FAA Repair Station MRO environment.

  • Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 145 as it pertains to repair station Quality requirements.

  • Experience interpreting technical data, engine manuals and blueprints.

  • LEAN, Continuous Improvement, and/or CORE, ACE, Six-Sigma training and experience.

  • Experience working with Solumina MES, SAP ERP, and MS Office Suite.

  • Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to motivate teams to achieve business goals.
