WE’RE LOOKING FOR A 

REPAIR & OVERHAUL INVENTORY QUALITY INSPECTOR

POSITION LOCATION: FORT ERIE, ONTARIO

The Repair & Overhaul Inventory Quality Inspector is responsible for receiving customer parts, completing initial assessments and paperwork, expediting the completion of Quality Gate 1 for repair and overhaul work to end users and, maintaining inventory integrity within the guidelines set out in AHCA’s quality control manuals.  The Repair & Overhaul Inventory Quality Inspector contributes to ensure the compliance of department operations (receipt and shipment) of Repair and Overhaul units with all applicable company quality standards. The incumbent pays close attention to deadlines, upholds high standards of quality and ensures accuracy in the completion of work.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Parts, Receiving, Inspection and Assessment QG1 and Vendor/Equipment Parts

• Responsible for storage management of all stock locations within SAP 
• Troubleshoot SAP Issues at reception with Support and Services and Stores teams
• Coordinate with Master data team to resolve issues with valuations, serial number profiles and descriptions 
• Record and inspect shipping/receiving conditions of each unit and upload to SAP
• Use appropriate tools and overhead crane to unpack each unit
• Initiate the service order for tracking of unit in SAP 
• Review/prepare documentation at receiving to ensure paperwork and shipment is accurate and complete to the requirements of AHCA Planning and Supply Chain teams. Ensure the corresponding binder is created for QG1 inspection and initiate the service order for tracking of unit in SAP.
• Perform initial visual inspection of part for damage/inconsistencies and record/document into SAP along with updating the corresponding binder with any discrepancies in the QG1 forms
• Raise QG1 block for non-conforming parts found during the receiving function and communicate to support and services team members. Follow up with assigned CSR as required
• Complete the Service order requirements for final acceptance of QG1 and complete the work package binder for next phase
• Stage the part into iObeya visual flow management by means of creating a digital ticket with relevant information
• Record all issues into QG1 database (shared with Support and Services)
• Prepare all documentation for parts requiring off-site ensuring inventory control tag is created

Process Completion / Preparation for Shipping - Expediting Vendor Parts:

• Document packaging process and conditions of each unit while uploading  to SAP
• Review and finalize the DCR QG3 document for entry into the system and preparation of package while liaising with the Support Office for the delivery note of the product
• Prepare finished component for shipping in approved shipping container and in accordance to group standards
• Ensure airworthiness certificate is completed accurately in accordance to the product and signed by all responsible parties  

Management of Shipping Containers:

• Perform initial visual inspection of part for damage/inconsistencies and record/document into SAP along with updating the corresponding binder with any discrepancies in the QG1 forms
• Oversee and organize the temporary storage of customer owned containers by means of tagging system in ZCART 
• Administer and manage AHCA container inventory for potential rentals and/or repackaging of AHCA owned material
• Perform repairs and reconditioning of shipping containers assuring compliance to the Airbus Standard
• In conjunction with Supply Chain, create and launch purchase requests for containers and materials required

Technical Records:

• Assist the Quality Inspector in the Maintenance and Storage of technical records and associated materials and archives
• Assist the Quality Inspector in continuous improvement projects involving QG1 and QG3 where required

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• 2 years’ experience in mechanical/machining environment
• Dynamic component experience is considered an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be familiar with Aircraft Maintenance  Management (i.e. TBO, SLL (Service Life Limits)), Schedule Maintenance 
• Able to solve day to day issues, work under general supervision and work independently as required
• Critical thinking skills; able to trouble shoot and identify issues and take corrective measures
• Must have basic computer skills
• Operation of overhead crane
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to effectively communicate across various levels of the company in a team environment
• Excellent organizational skills and able to meet deadlines
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and documents
• Knowledge of tools used in aircraft repair applications an asset
• Manual dexterity and precision
• Focus on delivering high standards of product quality
