Data is the foundation of the AI era — every generative AI outcome, modernization journey, and analytics-driven decision rests on how well customers store, govern, and activate their data. As the GTM Specialist EMEA Data Leader, you will own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for the Data domain across EMEA — a large business spanning Database, Storage, and Analytics — and define how Europe’s most ambitious organizations turn fragmented data estates into unified platforms that power analytics and AI.
Reporting to the EMEA Specialists Leader, you own the multi-year strategy for the domain, hold P&L-like accountability for goals, KPIs, and resource allocation, and serve as a primary interface to AWS service teams working with the WW domain teams to channel competitive and customer intelligence that shapes global roadmaps. This is a matrixed leadership role: you will drive outcomes in engagement with Sales, Solutions Architecture, Business Development, Partners, and Marketing, aligning and influencing beyond your team to deliver results at scale. You must lead in a fast-moving space with our teams shipping rapidly across databases, analytics, storage, and the data foundation for GenAI, and the competitive landscape shifts constantly. This leader operates with speed and conviction — making high-judgment calls with incomplete information, building markets as the “first in,” and course-correcting quickly — while building and scaling a world-class, geographically distributed GTM organization. This is an important leadership role demanding high autonomy and high accountability in a complex, matrixed environment.

Key job responsibilities
• Own and grow the Database, Storage, and Analytics domain business; define the multi-year EMEA strategy, set goals and KPIs, and build the mechanisms that scale (pipeline cadences, co-sell motions, funding frameworks, business reviews)
• Deploy specialist capacity where the opportunity is greatest, positioning the data estate as the foundation for customers’ analytics and generative AI ambitions
• Build, coach, and retain a multi-geography team of senior GTM specialists; develop the next generation of leaders and set the performance bar for org health and engagement
• Lead across a matrixed field organization — aligning Sales, Solutions Architecture, Business Development, Partners, and Marketing teams to deliver shared domain outcomes
• Own CxO-level relationships (CIO, CDO, CTO) and sponsor the region’s most complex data programs — large-scale database migrations and re-platforming, data lake and warehouse modernization, enterprise analytics transformations
• Own executive relationships with GSIs, SIs, and ISVs, driving partner-led growth and accelerating customer time-to-value
• As a primary interface to AWS service teams, surface customer insights and adoption barriers that shape roadmaps; represent AWS at executive forums and industry events (AWS re:Invent, AWS Summit, analyst and press meetings)

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience building and leading large teams and have worked in matrixed operating structures
- Experience in Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting
- Experience working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage
- Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders, C-level executives and cross functional teams or equivalent
- Experience in strategic thinking about business, enterprise software products, and new technology platforms and architectures or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience managing and developing high performance teams
- Multi-cultural leadership across European markets; prior experience at AWS or another cloud provider in a GTM or technical leadership role
