Summary

The Senior Carrier Relations Specialist develops and maintains a reliable truckload carrier network that supports brokerage capacity, competitive pricing, service requirements, and profitable growth. The role serves as a primary point of contact for carrier partners and works across Growth Enablement, Pricing, Operations, and Carrier Compliance to align carrier capabilities with customer opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains productive relationships with truckload carriers across assigned markets, modes, and customer opportunities.
• Sources qualified carrier capacity for contract opportunities, RFPs, new business, and strategic network needs.
• Negotiates carrier rates and commercial terms that support competitive customer pricing, service requirements, and margin objectives.
• Engages carriers in RFPs and recurring bid opportunities, clearly communicating lane requirements, timelines, expected volumes, and rate expectations.
• Coordinates with Carrier Compliance and onboarding teams to support carrier qualification, contracting, system setup, and document completion.
• Evaluates carrier capabilities, equipment, geographic coverage, operating preferences, and service constraints to determine fit for opportunities.
• Provides carrier feedback, market intelligence, capacity insights, and pricing input to Pricing, Growth Enablement, Operations, and leadership.
• Maintains accurate carrier profiles, rate records, sourcing activity, bid participation, follow-up, and related documentation in designated systems.
• Supports resolution of carrier issues and escalations by coordinating with internal stakeholders and carrier contacts while protecting customer service and carrier relationships.
• Executes assigned workflows independently, meets established deadlines, verifies information before submission, and communicates risks or gaps early.
  

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Three to five years of truckload brokerage, carrier sales, carrier procurement, transportation operations, or related experience preferred.
• Strong carrier relationship and negotiation skills.
• Working knowledge of truckload markets, equipment types, capacity dynamics, and carrier operating requirements.
• Ability to evaluate carrier fit and make sound decisions using available data and business guidelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with Excel and standard office technology.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, maintain accurate records, and work independently.
• Experience with transportation management, carrier onboarding, project tracking, and market rate tools preferred.

Pay Range:             

 

$60,000-$80,000* plus bonus
 

 

*The above-stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location.  The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
