As an R&D Operations Planner, you will ensure alignment between material availability, production schedules, and delivery requirements.

You will be a key contributor to the success of the material management, production planning, and scheduling execution, driving operational efficiency and ensuring that production commitments are met. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will help optimize inventory levels, synchronize schedules, and deliver results that support CMC development.

What You Will Do:

Planning Leadership:

• Develop and execute the planning process to align production plans and inventory strategies with demand forecasts.
• Tracks status of material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, and materials are available as needed.
• Prepares reports on works in progress.
  Coordinates material requirements to ensure approved material ordering is timed to efficiently to meet production requirements.
• Develop and manage inventory control processes.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to materials planning, inventory management, and schedule performance.
• Provide regular updates to leadership on schedule adherence, material availability, and operational performance.

Scheduling Expertise:

• Develop detailed production schedules and capacity plans for the CMC COE, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimal downtime.
• Own and maintain the production schedule, ensuring alignment with demand, production capacity, and material availability.
• Adjust production schedules as necessary to address changes in demand, supply constraints, or unforeseen disruptions.
• Review incoming Work Orders to ensure they are complete and supportable and project delivery dates.
• Schedules and expedites the movement of parts  to prioritize critical work and meet delivery dates.
• Work closely with operations, engineering, and project teams to balance workload and resolve scheduling conflicts to meet on-time delivery goals.
• Drive improvements in scheduling accuracy and responsiveness through the implementation of digital tools or advanced planning software.
• Review and maintain master production schedule (MPS).

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of materials planning and scheduling.
  Leverage lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize production flows and reduce waste.
• Champion the use of data analytics and forecasting tools to improve decision-making and drive process enhancements.
• Support Industry 4.0 Projects the advance planning and scheduling capability and reporting.
   

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in materials planning, production scheduling, and/or aerospace manufacturing operations or 3+ years of experience with an Advanced degree.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel.
  

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience in the aerospace or defense industry, particularly in materials planning and scheduling for advanced manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
