Job Description

The Carrier Services team is seeking a Transportation Planning Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across Amazon's middle mile transportation network. This role supports supply program performance tracking, execution defect analysis, and reporting across dedicated 3P carrier programs and 1P Amazon trailer programs. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with large datasets, has intermediate Excel and SQL skills, and can communicate findings clearly to cross-functional partners.

Key job responsibilities
1. Supply Program Support
• Support bid process activities including award validation and post-award reconciliation
• Identify and flag gaps between contracted carrier capacity and actual load volume; escalate findings to appropriate owners
2. Execution Defect Tracking and Analysis
• Participate in cross-functional working sessions to document root causes, track action items, and follow up on assigned deliverables
• Track weekly defect trends by category, region, and carrier; flag deteriorating patterns and escalate with supporting data
• Support misload (execution defects) reduction efforts by pulling and analyzing defect data at the site and carrier level across root cause categories
3. Forecast and Demand Signal Review
• Pull and review supply and demand data to identify misalignment between forecast and actual volumes
• Review forecast data for accuracy gaps and structural issues; document findings and escalate to forecast teams

4. Data Analysis and Reporting
• Support WBR and DBR reporting by pulling data, updating trackers, and preparing variance summaries and performance highlights
• Pull and analyze data from multiple databases using SQL, Excel, and BI tools to support cost analysis, program performance, and network impact assessments
5. Process Improvement and Data Integrity
• Support initiatives to resolve data integrity issues by coordinating with relevant teams to ensure reliable inputs for decision-making
• Support process improvement efforts, help document standard operating procedures, and flag manual workflows as candidates for automation
6. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders including carrier management, scheduling, forecasting, site operations, and technology teams to support planning and execution activities
• Prepare materials for leadership reviews including data summaries and performance updates
• Support recurring cadences including weekly strategy sessions and biweekly alignment calls
• Prepare and distribute the weekly flash; communicate findings and escalation paths to stakeholders on schedule

Basic Qualifications:

- High school or equivalent diploma
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
- Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements

Preferred Qualifications:

- 1+ years of program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation, or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of management experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with SQL
- Experience working cross functionally across several teams
- Familiarity with intermodal transportation, carrier bid processes, or freight procurement

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
