The Opportunity

Join our Internal Audit team in Luxembourg and work with regulated financial institutions on assignments that combine assurance, risk insight and practical transformation. As a Senior Consultant, you will manage key parts of engagements, engage directly with client stakeholders and coach junior colleagues, while deepening your expertise in the Luxembourg regulatory environment. You will join a team that combines deep internal audit expertise, regulatory insight, technology-enabled auditing capabilities and practical experience gained both within financial institutions and through complex advisory engagements.

Your key responsibilities

• Plan and execute risk-based internal audit engagements.
• Assess the design and operating effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal control arrangements.
• Draft concise, evidence-based findings that articulate root cause, risk and business impact, and propose pragmatic recommendations.
• Coordinate engagement activities, monitor progress, manage priorities and help ensure high-quality delivery in line with professional standards and agreed timelines.
• Maintain constructive stakeholder relationships.
• Support the design and enhancement of internal audit frameworks, risk assessments, audit universes, methodologies and annual audit plans.
• Monitor remediation of control deficiencies and assess whether corrective actions address the underlying risk.
• Identify opportunities to leverage data analytics, automation and AI-enabled auditing techniques to improve audit coverage, efficiency and insight.
• Coach junior team members, review their work and contribute to knowledge sharing, training and practice development.
• Contribute to proposals and internal audit solutions that respond to client needs and evolving regulatory expectations.

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Strong analytical judgement and the ability to connect detailed control observations with broader business and regulatory risks.
• Clear, confident written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence stakeholders professionally and constructively.
• Excellent organization, ownership and attention to detail, with the ability to manage several priorities in a project-based environment.
• A collaborative and curious mindset, with a genuine interest in continuous learning, technology and the development of others.
• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
• At least 2 to 3 years of professional experience in internal/external audit or a related role within the Luxembourg financial sector.
• A sound understanding of risk-based internal audit methodologies, control design, testing and professional reporting.
• Knowledge of the financial-services industry and the Luxembourg regulatory environment.
• Fluency in English and French. German or another European language is an advantage.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

Experience in one or more of the following areas: finance, IT controls, data privacy and protection, anti-bribery and corruption, investor protection, outsourcing, operational resilience, anti-money laundering, AI governance or emerging technology risks.

A relevant professional certification, or a clear interest in working towards one, such as CIA, CRMA or CISA.

Experience using data analytics or technology-enabled auditing techniques.
