The opportunity

EY’s Economics Advisory Practice solves problems in policy, strategy, international development and commercial decision-making by applying economics thinking, frameworks, and specialized analytical tools. We work closely with a range of government and private sector clients to address their most pressing strategic and regulatory challenges. Our Economics Advisory team is going through an exciting period of growth, and we are looking for outstanding economic consultants to join our team in Singapore.

As a Senior Associate, you will play a leading role on our engagement teams, providing robust and high-quality analysis to support the successful delivery of projects that tackle the most prominent development, policy, and business concerns.

Main responsibilities

• Lead specific workstreams – own the analysis and produce high quality, end-to-end deliverables including but not limited to economic reports, feasibility studies, impact analysis etc.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of economic trends, demand projections, supply-side analysis, industry developments etc.
• Develop and maintain economic models and databases
• Stay abreast of latest economic research, methodologies, and industry advancements
• Quickly develop economic and consulting toolkits including problem solving, modelling, data analytics, primary research, report writing, and effective synthesis
• Participate actively in professional development opportunities and leverage internal resources to enhance your skill set
• Support senior executives in business development activities such as contributing to proposal development

What we are looking for

• Strong degree in economics from a reputable university with a strong academic track record. Master's degree is a plus
• At least 3 to 4 years of working experience, preferably in a consulting or government setting
• Possesses independence and excellent problem-solving abilities
• Strong knowledge of econometric techniques, economic modelling, statistical analysis tools, and financial modeling
• Ability to draw out relevant insights from the analysis and present them through compelling narratives
• Well versed in economic issues including but not limited to tech and AI development, country growth, labour markets, government policies, and international development
• Strong numerical, writing, and communication skills
• Demonstrate a sense of ownership and accountability for projects and client deliverables
• Intellectual curiosity, driven, and exhibit willingness to learn and work collaboratively
