AIRBUS offers an internship (curricular practicum) program aimed at students who are in the last year of their degree with the main objective of acquiring professional skills through the development of a project in the company.

What do we offer?: Internship (curricular practicum) program + Bachelor's Degree Final Project (TFG).

Mission: You will prepare a final year training project that will allow you to complete your official studies.

About practical training:
6 months of curricular practicum at AIRBUS from February to July 2027
Part time: 5h / day - 25 hours per week (8h-13h)
Tutor assignment for continuous monitoring

Final project (TFG) to be carried out by the student:

Title: Characterising embedded processors for avionics use cases

Summary:
Modern aircraft systems require increasing on-board computing power, and commercial embedded processors offer attractive performance. However, avionics applications also demand predictable and reliable behaviour. The student will evaluate a commercial embedded processing platform against representative avionics use cases, developing test and benchmarking tools to assess its suitability.

1. Introduction and motivation
Computing needs of modern aircraft and the key requirements for avionics processing platforms.

2. State of the art
Embedded processing architectures and their software stacks, and public guidance for their use in avionics.

3. Platform setup
Bring-up of a commercial embedded development board and its software environment.

4. Test and benchmarking tools
Definition of representative avionics workloads and development of automated measurement tools.

5. Experimental evaluation
Characterisation of performance, predictability and resource usage under different operating conditions.

6. Results, conclusions and future work
Assessment of the platform's suitability for avionics use cases and recommendations.

As a successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Studying Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related fields
English: min. level B2 (C1 desirable)
Spanish: min. level B1
General knowledge in C programming, computer architecture (processors, memory, peripherals) and Linux
Skills valued: Python scripting, graphics processor programming, hands-on experience with embedded boards or programmable logic, real-time operating systems, artificial intelligence on embedded devices, and interest in safety-critical systems
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Team spirit and great collaboration skills
Ability to work in international environment
