Job Description

If so, Amazon Transportation Services is looking for a Carrier Manager responsible for the program management of border crossing operations, enabling the access of products from US Fulfillment to our customers in Mexico.

The ideal candidate is able to drive 3P carrier performance for warehouse, sorting, imports, and transportation processes. The role is expected to drive continuous improvement and design operations that guarantee quality, speed, and cost to serve for our customers.

Candidates for this role must be able to influence without authority while also driving 3P alignment to Amazon performance standards. This role is accountable for weekly and monthly business reviews for carrier performance. Candidate must also be able to influence internal stakeholders to drive end to end supply chain alignment considering complexities in border crossing operation.

The ideal candidate is decisive and able to make decisions at critical times and whilst under pressure. You must be able to lead a carrier operation, be sensitive to the needs of customer, peers, and stakeholders, and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.

Role is located in Amazon MEX16 in Mexico City with flexibility to travel to any US/MX border city such as Nuevo Laredo-Laredo, Tijuana-San Diego, Ciudad Juarez-El Paso.

Key job responsibilities
* Daily, Weekly and Monthly Business Reviews with carriers to ensure data-driven improvements
* Drive continuous improvement projects in 3P managed operations
* Execute tactical decisions for the benefit of customers
* Understand customs and border crossing complexities to make the correct short term decisions, while designing long term solutions
* Define mechanisms to audit and improve 3P performance
* Document standard work and conduct training

Candidates should exhibit the following trait:
* Demonstrated strong negotiation skills through document writing and verbal communication
* Strong knowledge of customs compliance and trade regulations, understanding the nuances and risks
* Sound understanding of business financials, and ability to use data to drive cost improvements through efficiencies proposals or negotiations
* Proven analytical and data driven skills, able to both drill down big data and complement with operational anecdotes to drive conclusions and actions

Basic Qualifications:

- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Preferred Qualifications:

- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
