Join EY and help to build a better working world.

At EY, we're all in to shape your future with confidence.

As a Senior Manager within EY's Financial Services Risk Management practice, you will help leading financial institutions navigate an increasingly complex risk and regulatory environment. Working with banks, insurers, investment firms and other financial services organisations, you will lead the delivery of innovative risk management, quantitative modelling and regulatory advisory solutions that help clients build resilience, drive growth and create long-term value.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with strategic advisory skills, while playing a key role in developing our people, expanding client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of EY's Financial Services practice.

The Opportunity

As a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, you will lead engagements across a broad spectrum of risk disciplines, helping organisations anticipate challenges, respond to regulatory developments and strengthen their risk management capabilities. You will work in multidisciplinary teams, collaborate across EY service lines and contribute to thought leadership that shapes industry conversations.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage client engagements focused on enterprise risk, credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk and regulatory compliance.
  • Advise financial institutions on the design, enhancement and implementation of risk management frameworks, governance structures, policies and controls.
  • Lead the development, review and validation of quantitative risk models, including IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL), credit rating models, stress testing frameworks, ICAAP and ILAAP methodologies.
  • Support clients in identifying, measuring, monitoring and mitigating risk while aligning risk management practices with business strategy and regulatory expectations.
  • Partner with colleagues across risk, quantitative services, technology, data analytics and regulatory compliance teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to senior management and key decision-makers.
  • Identify business development opportunities and contribute to proposals, client presentations and market-facing initiatives.
  • Coach, mentor and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous learning.
  • Monitor emerging regulatory developments and industry trends, translating complex requirements into practical business solutions.
  • Contribute to EY thought leadership through research, publications, industry events and client seminars.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand client challenges and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to engage with senior executives and regulators.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex data and risk-related information.
  • Proven leadership skills with a passion for developing people and building high-performing teams.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

  • A degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Risk Management or a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Financial Engineering or Engineering.
  • Several years of relevant experience in risk management, quantitative modelling and/or regulatory consulting within the financial services sector.
  • Experience in model development, model validation or risk advisory services across one or more of the following areas:
    • Credit Risk
    • Capital Adequacy and Stress Testing
    • Liquidity Risk and IRRBB
    • Market Risk
  • A solid understanding of financial services regulatory frameworks, including CRD and related prudential requirements.
  • Experience managing projects and leading teams while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Strong report-writing, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ideally, You'll Also Have

  • A postgraduate qualification in a finance, risk management or quantitative discipline.
  • A professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, FRM, PRM or an actuarial qualification.
  • Exposure to digital transformation initiatives, advanced analytics, AI or technology-driven solutions within risk and regulatory functions.
