Job Description Summary
The Program Coordinator (Clinical Exempt RN) is a highly engaged clinical nursing role responsible for supporting the onsite Advanced Practice Provider (APP) and delivering direct patient care services within the Santee Cooper Onsite Health & Wellness Center. The position provides comprehensive nursing support for primary care, preventive health, occupational medicine, employee wellness, and population health initiatives. The RN serves as a key member of the care team, ensuring efficient clinic flow, coordination of care, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service to Santee Cooper employees.This role spends the majority of time performing direct clinical duties while also coordinating occupational health programs, employee wellness initiatives, clinical workflows, and quality improvement activities.

Job Description
Essential Clinical Duties
Primary Care Support
- Room patients and obtain comprehensive health histories, chief complaints, medications, allergies, and vital signs.
- Perform clinical assessments and nursing triage for acute and chronic health conditions.
- Review preventative care needs and identify gaps in care.
- Assist providers during examinations and office procedures.
- Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and therapeutic treatments as ordered.
- Perform EKGs, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Educate patients regarding disease management, medications, treatment plans, and preventive health measures.
- Coordinate referrals, specialty follow-up appointments, diagnostic testing, and care transitions.
- Support management of chronic conditions including:HypertensionDiabetesHyperlipidemiaAsthma/COPDObesityCardiovascular diseaseMental health conditions
Wellness & Preventive Health Services
- Conduct annual wellness visits and health risk assessments.
- Perform biometric screenings including blood pressure, glucose, BMI, cholesterol, and other health indicators.
- Coordinate employee wellness programs and health promotion campaigns.
- Provide tobacco cessation counseling and preventive health education.
- Support population health initiatives designed to improve employee health outcomes.
- Assist with vaccination programs including influenza, COVID-19, Hepatitis B, and employer-required immunizations.
- Monitor preventative screening compliance and outreach efforts.
Occupational Medicine Duties
Occupational Health Surveillance
- Conduct pre-employment, post-offer, periodic, and return-to-work health assessments.
- Perform OSHA-regulated medical surveillance activities.
- Administer and coordinate:Respirator medical evaluationsRespirator fit testingAudiometric testing/hearing conservation programsVision screening programsPulmonary function testing (spirometry)DOT and regulatory physical support servicesHazard-specific surveillance programs
Work-Related Injury Management
- Evaluate and triage occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Coordinate treatment plans under provider direction.
- Assist in management of:LacerationsSprains and strainsMinor fractures and musculoskeletal injuriesEye injuriesExposure incidentsNeedle stick and bloodborne pathogen exposuresHeat stress and environmental exposures
- Monitor employee recovery and support return-to-work activities.
- Coordinate restricted duty and modified duty recommendations.
- Maintain workers' compensation and employer-required documentation.
Occupational Health Compliance
- Maintain OSHA-compliant medical records and surveillance documentation.

- Track employee medical clearance status.
- Manage fitness-for-duty documentation and employee health clearances.
- Coordinate required follow-up testing and surveillance activities.
Mobile Occupational Health Services
- Provide onsite nursing support for health screenings conducted at Santee Cooper generating stations and operational facilities.
- Conduct mobile hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and wellness screening programs.
- Coordinate logistics and documentation for off-site screening events.
- Support annual occupational surveillance activities across multiple employee locations.
Clinical Operations
- Support daily clinic operations and patient flow management.
- Ensure examination rooms, supplies, medications, and equipment are stocked and maintained.
- Monitor vaccine inventory and medication storage requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Assist with infection prevention activities and regulatory inspections.
- Support Epic documentation accuracy and workflow compliance.
- Collaborate with providers, administrators, Human Resources, Safety, and Santee Cooper leadership.
Care Coordination & Population Health
- Identify care gaps and coordinate outreach efforts.
- Monitor chronic disease registries and preventative care compliance.
- Assist in analyzing clinic utilization and wellness outcomes.
- Support employer population health reporting initiatives.
- Participate in employee wellness education and engagement activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current unrestricted South Carolina Registered Nurse license.
- Three (3) years of nursing experience.
- Current BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN preferred.
- Occupational Health, Primary Care, Employee Health, Urgent Care, or Ambulatory Care experience preferred.
- Experience with Epic EHR.
- Experience conducting OSHA medical surveillance activities.
- Spirometry, Audiometric Testing, and Respirator Fit Test certification preferred.
- COHN or COHN-S certification preferred.
Physical & Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting patients.
- Travel to Santee Cooper worksites and generating stations for mobile occupational health services.
- Exposure to clinical and industrial environments requiring adherence to safety protocols.
- Ability to support emergency response situations and occupational injury evaluations.
Additional Job Description
Bachelor’s degree in nursing required and three years related nursing experience in specialty area. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Some positions require certification as a generalist in a related specialty area by the American Nurses Association (ANA).
