Job Description
Are you passionate about building intelligent financial systems that protect and empower millions of businesses? Do you want to lead a team at the intersection of AI and complex risk management while growing the next generation of product leaders?
The Amazon Business Payments (ABP) team provides invoicing, working capital, and payment acceptance solutions to Amazon Business customers, sellers, and other small business customers across Amazon. We are part of the global Amazon Payments organization, which aims to delight our customers by building payment experiences and financial services that are trusted, valued, and easy to use from anywhere in any way.
Within ABP, the Credit and Fraud Risk Management team drives credit and fraud decisions for our Business Credit account product with the objective of maximizing credit access, minimizing losses, reducing friction, and maintaining a healthy balance sheet. We are entering a transformative era where Generative AI, large language models, and autonomous AI agents are fundamentally reshaping how we manage risk.
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Product Management Technical to own the strategic vision and multi-year roadmap for our next-generation credit and fraud risk platform while building and leading a high-performing product management team. This is a high-ambiguity leadership role where you will define the problem space, set the vision, and architect AI-native product solutions. You will lead through your team, coaching managers and individual contributors to deliver innovation through Generative AI and AI agents that create step-function improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience.
You will partner closely with Science, Engineering, Portfolio Management, Operations, and business teams across multiple organizations to deliver transformational credit and fraud capabilities. This role requires deep technical judgment, the ability to influence senior leaders across Amazon Payments, Amazon Business, and Seller Partner Services, and a proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
Key job responsibilities
- Define and own the 3–5 year strategic product vision and roadmap for credit and fraud risk management, aligning your team's priorities to measurable outcomes across a multi-billion dollar lending portfolio.
- Build, lead, and develop a team of product managers and people managers — recruiting bar-raising talent, creating tailored onboarding and development plans, and coaching leaders to grow their own teams effectively.
- Drive innovation through Generative AI and AI agents by identifying use cases where foundation models, autonomous agents, and intelligent automation can transform credit decisioning, fraud detection, and risk operations.
- Set the technical product strategy for how AI capabilities integrate into credit and fraud systems, partnering with Science and Engineering leaders to evaluate emerging architectures and shape trade-offs that preserve long-term strategic flexibility.
- Influence strategic direction across multiple organizations including Payments, Amazon Business, and Seller Partner Services through clear written narratives and executive forums, while establishing metrics frameworks that measure the effectiveness of AI-driven risk decisions.
A day in the life
You start many mornings reviewing your team's written proposals or experiment results, providing feedback that sharpens their thinking before broader reviews. Mid-morning might bring a working session with your Science and Engineering counterparts to evaluate a new AI agent prototype for fraud detection. After lunch you shift to people leadership — a career-growth conversation with a direct report, followed by a calibration discussion with peer managers. Later you may draft or review a strategic narrative for senior leadership that lays out the next phase of your platform roadmap, then close the day syncing with your managers on priorities and blockers across the team.
