Job Description
Are you energized by designing supply chains from the ground up and solving complex, ambiguous problems that span multiple teams and functions? At Amazon, our Supply Chain Managers play a critical role in shaping how we move products and deliver value to customers around the world. In this role, you will own the design and optimization of supply chain networks, partnering across transportation, procurement, technology, warehousing, and product teams to build scalable solutions. You will tackle both tactical and strategic challenges — modeling best practices, creating new metrics, and driving process improvements that can scale across the organization. If you are a self-starter who thrives on turning data into actionable insights and influencing outcomes across a broad set of stakeholders, we want to hear from you.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and model supply chain solutions for complex, cross-functional initiatives where stakeholder needs, network strategy, and technical feasibility may not yet be defined, working backwards from customer and business inputs to identify simple, scalable approaches.
- Develop and implement inventory and logistics strategies that balance cost, efficiency, and delivery performance, using data analysis and demand forecasting to optimize stock levels and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple functions and levels, as well as external suppliers, to drive alignment, negotiate agreements, reduce risk, and improve overall supply chain performance.
- Identify and lead process improvement opportunities by facilitating supply chain analysis, establishing mechanisms to resolve recurring issues at scale, and proposing network-wide solutions that improve operational health.
- Create and present trade-off analyses and recommendations to leadership, clearly outlining decisions, competing metrics, and potential impacts while driving the implementation of standard work and best practices across the organization.
A day in the life
You will start your morning reviewing supply chain performance data and identifying emerging trends that require attention. Throughout the day, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners — joining working sessions with transportation, procurement, and technology teams to align on network design decisions and resolve open issues. You will build models, pressure-test assumptions, and present findings to leaders who rely on your analysis to make informed decisions. Expect to balance deep analytical work with stakeholder conversations that shape the direction of large-scale initiatives.
