eCommerce Foundation (eCF) Finance is looking for a high performing Finance Manager to be the business partner to the leaders of the eCommerce Services teams. This is a high impact, high visibility role at the center of business critical decisions, where you will partner with senior leaders to set the strategic direction for their groups. You will optimize investments, surface the insights that drive them, and shape the best course of action. It goes beyond traditional controllership and reporting: you will bring a builder's mindset, using automation and AI where it sharpens your analysis and speeds up decisions. We are looking for a self starter with strong business modeling skills, sharp attention to detail, and a proven track record of influencing business partners to deliver results.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage month-end close and present results with insights to technical leaders.
- Drive the short and long term financial planning.
- Drive process improvement and automation.
- Lead controllership, efficiencies and cost reduction opportunities.
- Lead financial modeling and analysis for new technology initiatives.
- Develop business case analyses to support all major financial decisions.
- Establish and communicate key operating and business metrics.





About the team
The eCommerce Foundation (eCF) team owns foundational software and programs that power Amazon's Stores, Digital, and other businesses. Our services include core commerce functions such as the catalog, ordering, and customer identity systems. We operate the global Retail Websites, Amazon's internal general purpose data lakes, and foundational technologies including Sable and Datapath. We are stewards of availability and operational efficiency of SDO services, as well as champions of the architectural evolution of SDOs infrastructure. We own broad-reaching, engineering-centric programs including Engineering Excellence, and the Nebula effort to move SDO off MAWS. eCF owns the creation of innovative delivery systems including drones and robots.

Basic Qualifications:

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science)
- 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
- 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience

Preferred Qualifications:

- 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making, or experience communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis, or experience communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results, or experience working with stakeholders
- Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel, or experience in Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups)
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving, or experience in finance roles

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
