Job Description

Amazon is looking for a high-judgment Communications Manager to join our global Trust & Reputation team, supporting Amazon's Devices & Services organization and focusing on risk and issues management for Alexa+ specifically.

In this role, you will identify potential risks, develop comprehensive communications strategies and playbooks to address them, provide counsel on business and policy decisions, manage reactive issues and news cycles, and execute communications strategies that protect and strengthen customer trust. You'll work across a wide range of topics—from customer experience and privacy/security issues to safety and responsible AI.

You will navigate a matrixed global organization, building strong cross-functional relationships with business, legal, and public policy leaders. You must demonstrate excellent judgment, earn trust with internal stakeholders, dive deep into complex topics, and clearly articulate ideas in written and verbal communications. The ability to anticipate potential headwinds and effectively advocate for decisions that protect the long-term interests of Amazon and its customers is essential.

If you're a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments and loves diving into complex consumer technology issues, this role might be a great fit.

Key job responsibilities
•Assess and manage complex, fast-moving reputation issues with professionalism and sound judgment
•Develop clear viewpoints on issues, craft concise narratives, and provide counsel to business leadership on both short- and long-term challenges
•Engage with reporters to gather information, educate them about our business, and advocate for Amazon's position
•Partner with public policy, legal, and communications colleagues on emerging issues
•Oversee end-to-end development and execution of business-critical communications programs
•Develop and refine processes to streamline ways of working across a matrixed global organization

Basic Qualifications:

- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders
- Proven track record in issues management and/or public affairs

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience building and leading issues management programs for consumer technology, enterprise technology, telecommunications, or aerospace companies
