Job Description
Are you a seasoned talent strategist who thrives on identifying and engaging the most exceptional leaders in the market? At Amazon, we believe that the right hire can transform an entire organization, and we are looking for a Principal Specialty Recruiter to lead the charge on our most critical and complex searches. In this role, you will define and deliver recruiting strategies for highly sensitive, high-impact leadership and specialty roles that span across organizations and regions. You will leverage your deep professional network, sharp market intelligence, and creative sourcing instincts to connect with passive candidates who raise the bar for senior talent. If you are a self-starter who is energized by ambiguity, motivated by meaningful impact, and skilled at building trusted relationships with both candidates and senior leaders, this is your opportunity to shape the future of Amazon's leadership.
Key job responsibilities
- Define and execute recruiting strategies for highly critical specialty and leadership roles with broad cross-organizational and cross-regional business impact, optimizing approaches based on internal and external talent market data and long-term organizational design.
- Cultivate and leverage a personally developed network of prospects to engage passive candidates, creatively identifying unconventional talent sources and recommending inclusive candidate profiles to broaden the pipeline.
- Serve as a trusted adviser to senior leaders and prospects, operating with independence and discretion to assess candidate value, develop compelling compensation packages, and guide stakeholders through complex hiring decisions.
- Drive data-informed improvements to recruiting processes by analyzing business signals related to attraction, attrition, succession planning, and talent mapping, and by testing new hiring channels and tools for broader adoption.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to align recruiting strategies, manage stakeholder communication, and coach peers and new hires on talent best practices and behavioral interviewing methodologies.
A day in the life
You might start your morning reviewing talent market data and refining a search strategy for a confidential leadership role, then shift to a candidate phone screen where you assess fit across multiple dimensions. After lunch, you could find yourself advising a senior leader on organizational talent needs, followed by a strategy session with your recruiting partners to align on pipeline priorities. Throughout, you are building relationships — reaching out to a prospect you identified through an unconventional channel or mentoring a fellow recruiter on interview techniques.
About the team
