Abouttherole
As Commercial Counsel, you will provide practical, solution-oriented legal support to Maersk’s U.S.landsideandlogisticsbusinesses.Youwillprimarilyfocusondrafting,reviewing,andnegotiatingahighvolumeofcustomerandprocurementcontractsacrossareassuchastransportation,warehousing,distribution,realestate,engineering,andconstruction.
You will partner with commercial, operational, finance, procurement, risk, safety, and other internal stakeholders to understand business needs, identify legal and commercialrisks,anddevelopworkablesolutions.Inadditiontocontracting,youwillhaveopportunitiestosupportstrategictransactions,regulatorymatters,realestateactivities,claims,litigation,andotherinitiativesbasedonbusinessneedsandyourareasofinterest.

KeyResponsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage customer logistics contracts and a broad rangeofprocurementagreements,includingcontractsrelatedtorealestate,engineering,andconstruction.
- Advisebusinessstakeholdersoncustomerandprocurementcontractformation,negotiation,interpretation,andongoingmanagement.
- Supportriskmanagementandsafetyinitiativesbyprovidingpracticallegalguidancealignedwithoperationalandcommercialobjectives.
- Manageandsupportregulatoryapplications,licenses,andtransportationandlogisticscompliancematters.
- ParticipateinstrategictransactionsandprovidelegalsupportforinitiativesthatcontributetoMaersk’soverallgrowthstrategy.
- Supportrealestateleasenegotiations,administration,andrelatedlegalmatters.
- Provideclaimsandlitigationsupport,includingdiscoveryresponses,casemanagement,witnessinterviews,informationgathering,litigationstrategy,andcoordinationwithoutsidecounsel.
- ConductlegalresearchandadvisethebusinessonmattersinvolvingtheDOT,FMC,laborandemployment,privacy,OSHA,corporategovernance,andotherregulatoryandinternalcompliancerequirements.

Salary: $150,000 - $250,000 USD*
*Thestatedpayrangeistheanticipatedstartingsalaryandmaybeadjustedbasedonmarketconditions,experience,andlocation.Finalcompensationwillbediscusseddirectlywiththeselectedcandidate(s)incompliancewithallapplicablelaws.
