In order to support Air Power Engineering, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an
Aircraft Systems Engineer (Multisystems) (d/f/m)
to lead the development lifecycle from initial conception, orchestrating complex functional integration while ensuring strict compliance with safety-critical ARP4754A processes. Beyond execution, this role demands a technically inquisitive professional who understands the impact of every requirement on aircraft safety and can maintain full traceability from the system level down to embedded hardware and software. You will capture requirements, execute functional allocations, and conduct safety analyses (FHA, PSSA, SSA) aligned with target Design Assurance Levels (DAL), while proactively identifying critical dependencies and mitigating technical risks in early design phases.
To address evolving paradigms in digital resource optimization, we offer training in cutting-edge concepts like Multisystems, Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA/ATA42), and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). Your tasks and responsibilities
Development of system architecture in line with safety, human factors, security and performance requirements: specification, traceability, integration, V&V, certification.
System Development, Integration, Verification and Certification Plans definition.
Initiate and prepare end-to-end system architecture documentation in collaboration with a wide range of user-systems, taking benefits of Shared Resources / Integrated Modular.
When applicable, negotiate and implement user-systems needs into Shared Computing Resources (IMA) and Aircraft Data Network.
Exercise complete aircraft systems design life cycle from the definition to the validation and certification of the system.
During the Concept Phase of any project, devise the concept for the architecture of Aircraft, including the computing and data network infrastructure (e.g. usage of shared infrastructure versus federated approach).
Support Safety specialists through the safety assessment process bearing in mind the specificities of shared computing/network resources.
Desired skills and qualifications
Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
5+ years in aircraft systems engineering across the full development lifecycle (ARP4754B).
Strong background in the aircraft certification process, system safety/reliability, and DO-297 adaptation for Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA)
Solid understanding of aircraft system design, architecture, and Model-Based Systems Engineering.
Advanced expertise in L1/L2/L3 V&V processes (definition through qualification), end-to-end operational test scenarios, and Multisystem Integration Test RIGs.
Experience in the definition and execution of End-to-End Operational Test Scenarios
Hands-on experience with airborne software or hardware development (DO-178C, DO-254) as well as with virtual Engineering/ Digital Twins would be beneficial
Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and technical risk management.
Autonomous decision-maker with a continuous improvement mindset; negotiation-level English required.
