Summary of Role:
The Raytheon UK Advanced Products team has a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic, high performing and experienced Assistant Project Manager to provide support and direction, as part of a high performing Integrated Project Team.
Working within the Complex Sub-Assemblies Product Line The Assistant Project Manager provides critical support in the successful delivery of complex programmes by coordinating project activities, supporting governance processes, and ensuring effective communication across internal teams, suppliers, and customers. Working closely with the Programme Manager and Integrated Project Team (IPT), this role contributes to programme execution, commercial activities, schedule management, and customer engagement while ensuring compliance with export governance requirements and contractual obligations. As a valuable member of the Advanced Products team this Project Management role is pivotal both in the growth of the Raytheon UK business, and in the success of RTX US in supporting their customer during this time of significantly increased demand.
Success will require customer focused innovative thinking, forward planning, strong communication, resilience and an ability to react quickly to changes. As a valuable member of the Advanced Products team this Assistant Project Management role is pivotal in identifying and securing new opportunities, working collaboratively with the wider company and creating an inclusive environment for the team to grow. As part of the day-to-day activities the role requires assisting in the delivery of complex and challenging projects, ensuring on-time deliveries, customer satisfaction, and high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination & Delivery Support
Support the Programme Manager in the planning, execution, and monitoring of programme activities, ensuring key milestones, actions, and deliverables are effectively managed.
Coordinate project workflows, track progress against agreed objectives, and support the resolution of risks, issues, and dependencies.
Prepare regular updates and reports to support programme governance and decision-making.
Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
Manage the raising and tracking of shipment requests, ensuring deliveries are coordinated efficiently and aligned with programme requirements.
Support the management of returns and repairs contracts, coordinating activities between customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and contractual compliance.
Export Governance & Technology Transfers
Prepare and coordinate technology transfer documentation in line with export governance requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and approval processes.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure controlled information and technology movements are appropriately managed.
Bid & Proposal Support
Liaise with the Integrated Project Team (IPT) to gather technical, commercial, and operational inputs required for bids and proposals.
Coordinate contributions from key stakeholders, ensuring submissions are accurate, complete, and delivered within required timescales.
Support the preparation of compelling customer-facing proposals and supporting documentation.
Programme Governance & Reporting
Support Estimate at Completion (EAC) reviews by coordinating inputs, tracking cost and schedule performance, and highlighting key programme considerations.
Assist with monthly programme reviews by preparing supporting materials, coordinating inputs, and ensuring actions are captured and progressed.
Produce accurate and detailed meeting minutes, action trackers, and meeting summaries to support effective communication and follow-up by the Programme Manager.
Customer Communication & Schedule Management
Prepare and issue programme schedule updates for customers, ensuring information is accurate, timely, and aligned with agreed communication plans.
Support customer engagement by providing clear, concise updates on progress, milestones, and upcoming activities.

Essential:
Degree qualified in a technical, manufacturing or project management related discipline, or with equivalent non-academic experience. A recognized project management qualification is highly desirable.
Experienced in project delivery with a successful track record in executing projects to schedule, budget and quality.
Ability to execute to customer requirements.
Experience in project financial reporting, ensuring a complete and accurate view is available on request.
Awareness and understanding of Risk and Opportunity management, knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk and opportunity management techniques and tools.
Desirable:
Experience of working in relevant domains.
Supportive, with the character to navigate sensitive and pressurised situations to overcome delivery challenges.
Experience in the preparation of proposals.
Effective stakeholder management.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
Innovative and proactive problem solver – Anticipates and plans to mitigate risks.
Able to engage with technical experts with credibility and understanding.
Able to manage and work within agreed budgets, forecast cost to complete.

37hr working week, although hours may vary depending on role, job requirement or site-specific arrangements.
