Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Enterprise Capital Planning will lead core capital reporting, month-end close, forecasting, and planning activities for the enterprise capital portfolio. The role will consolidate and analyze segment submissions, monitor portfolio performance, and translate financial and operational data into clear insights for Capital Planning leadership and senior management.
This position will partner with Segment Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Technology, and Capital Leads to strengthen reporting accuracy, planning discipline, and decision support. The successful candidate will operate independently, manage competing priorities, and connect project-level activity to enterprise portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead month-end close and capital reporting. Coordinate actuals validation, reconciliations, variance analysis, and management reporting; partner with accounting and segment teams to ensure results are accurate, timely, and understood.
Lead forecasting and Operating Plan support. Coordinate, consolidate, review, and analyze quarterly forecasts and annual Operating Plan submissions; evaluate investment pacing, funding needs, affordability, risks, and opportunities.
Deliver executive reporting and portfolio insights. Develop concise materials on spending, performance, milestones, risks, and required actions for senior leadership and capital governance forums.
Support investment analysis. Review business cases and project economics, challenge material assumptions, and identify gaps or inconsistencies requiring resolution or escalation.
Monitor portfolio performance. Connect approved plans to actual investment, expected benefits, and key delivery milestones; identify emerging issues and support follow-up with project and segment teams.
Maintain data governance and reporting integrity. Apply consistent definitions, controls, reconciliations, and documentation across capital actuals, forecasts, and management reporting.
Serve as a functional SME for capital planning systems. Partner with enablement and technology teams to prioritize practical enhancements, resolve issues, improve adoption, and reduce manual reporting effort.
Build cross-functional alignment and team capability. Influence stakeholders without direct authority and provide coaching, work review, and knowledge transfer to analysts or rotational colleagues as assigned.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of relevant work experience in finance or related discipline.
Experience leading complex financial reporting, forecasting, planning, or portfolio processes involving multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, including the ability to evaluate investment assumptions and synthesize results into management insights.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, including data reconciliation, scenario analysis, and executive presentation development.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, influence partners, and communicate complex information clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with FP&A, enterprise capital planning, portfolio reporting, business case evaluation, or benefits realization.
Experience with Anaplan, SAP, SAP Analysis for Office, Power BI, Oracle, Hyperion, or comparable planning and reporting tools.
Knowledge of capital accounting and the P&L, cash flow, depreciation, and balance sheet implications of capital investments.
Experience improving financial processes, reporting automation, data governance, or systems capabilities.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field required.
MBA, CPA, CFA, or another relevant advanced degree or professional designation preferred.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$82,940.00 - $182,549.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
