Manager, Centralized Monitoring
About the Role
The Manager, Centralized Monitoring is responsible for leading a team of Central Monitors and Team Leads to ensure the successful delivery of clinical trial monitoring activities. This role oversees resource planning, performance management, quality compliance, and operational delivery, ensuring studies are executed in accordance with timelines, regulatory requirements, SOPs, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop Central Monitoring staff and Team Leads.
Manage resource allocation, workload planning, and study assignments.
Ensure study delivery meets quality, productivity, and timeline objectives.
Oversee onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members.
Monitor performance, conduct quality reviews, and implement corrective actions where needed.
Drive compliance with ICH-GCP, regulatory requirements, SOPs, and internal processes.
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support departmental planning, budgeting, and workforce management activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or a related field.
8+ years of relevant clinical research experience, including people leadership responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of clinical trial conduct, risk-based monitoring, ICH-GCP, and applicable regulations.
Skills
Proven leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrix environment.
Demonstrated focus on quality, compliance, and operational delivery.
