The Programming Coordinator supports the ESPN Soccer Programming teams on the day-to-day scheduling and management of content and partner relationships. This role contributes to the strategic scheduling of content across all English and Spanish language networks and platforms to maximize audience growth, viewership and revenue, operational and technical related processes and coordinates across business units as needed. Works collaboratively across all ESPN departments and with external rightsholders and partners to fulfill contracts and achieve established company/team priorities and goals.
The right person for this role is a self-starter, eager to learn, well-versed in the sports media ecosystem and experienced in navigating cross-functional relationships within and outside of an organization. This person has exceptional communication and organizational skills and is able to work across stakeholders to build consensus around strategies and opportunities. This person will also have knowledge and interest in direct-to-consumer technology, sports rights and programming. This person thinks big, learns quickly, and approaches everything with enthusiasm. Finally, this person has an interest in adapting to our ever-changing industry, and similarly, the candidate should expect that this role and its day-to-day responsibilities may also change to adapt to the needs of the team, specific initiatives, launches, and more.
Responsibilities
Work with team management to assist strategic scheduling of all assigned programming (Live and VOD), including the creation and maintenance of sport or program-specific schedules for key soccer and golf properties including LaLiga, NWSL, FA Cup, Copa del Rey, USLand more
Responsible for all internal scheduling system (CS) matters for assigned sport category including ratings, scheduling, product display, etc.
Ensure timely and effective communication of information to external partners and across departments
Consistent communication and interaction with all internal departments specifically Production, Marketing, Sales, Research,Social Media, Legal and Digital/Editorial Media team
Manage long-term and ad-hoc projects to support the broader strategy of the team and ESPN overall
Work as a member of the Programming Department at large to contribute to the overall scheduling strategy for the company across platforms to continue to grow our business
Basic Requirements
Extensive knowledge of global soccer and other sports disciplines including various leagues, key club and national team competitions, and star athletes
General knowledge of the sports media industry and digital/social media platforms
High level of curiosity and self-motivation in digging deeper into data/trends and driving impactful insights
Proactive by nature and comfortability with problem-solving and navigating through ambiguity
Highly collaborative with a team-first attitude
Effectively manage multiple demands for self and others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the capability to interact across levels and support decision-making
Must be highly organized, efficient, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work
Proficient computer skills, emphasis on Microsoft Office and Google suite
Preferred Requirements
One year of experience in the sports media industry, direct-to-consumer, television programming and/or soccer environment
Strong working knowledge of ESPN’s digital platforms, as well as knowledge of content scheduler
General familiarity with reading and comprehending legal contracts
Bilingual (Spanish)

The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT is $54,000.00 to $72,300.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job Posting Segment:
