New innovations and growing complexities in Supply chain systems to optimally hold inventory closer to customer demand and maximize LTFCF, generate challenging opportunities for humans to stay in control. In the EU SCOT-AIM team, our vision is to build capabilities that optimize day-to-day decisions and trade-offs supply chain systems are designed to take in a constrained environment and generate actionable insights for our partners in Retail and Operations.
We are looking for a Product Manager focused on Buying Operations for EU. You will partner with key SCOT, retail, and operations leaders, develop deep knowledge and insights to detect, drive actions and proactively steer to the right business outcomes. You will play an integral role in maintaining the right balance of improving availability while improving inventory efficiency, working across product, tech, operations and retail teams in EU/WW. In addition, you will provide guidance and mentoring to other team members locally and in other offices globally.
This role offers an opportunity to drive improved availability and inventory outcomes, and increase the quality and speed at which we deliver our customers’ orders - increasing the confidence and trust our customers have that Amazon is the one, best option for ‘want it, click it, have it.’
Key job responsibilities
Own complex, cross-cutting technical initiatives that connect our buying decision systems with the broader supply chain ecosystem.
Dive deep into system architectures, APIs, and data flows to understand how our systems actually work and how they need to evolve.
Partner with product & engineering leaders to ensure we are building robust, well-designed systems that scale and integrate cleanly across organizational boundaries.
Deep dive Buying defects and partner with teams across SCOT, Retail and Operations to root cause and course correct
Conduct and own experimentation to improve Long Term Free Cash Flow outcomes.
Translate complex technical architectures and trade-offs into clear narratives for executive and non-technical audiences
About the team
SCOT’s Automated Inventory Management (AIM) team owns the management of Amazon’s inventory investment and key business outcomes. If you'd like to help us build on Amazon’s experience where you can find and buy anything online and have it delivered fast, this is your chance to make history.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in technical product management, program management or engineering
- Experience with concepts such as system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making
- Experience in an operational environment developing, fast-prototyping, piloting and launching analytic products
- Experience bridging technical and business teams to collect and refine requirements, prioritize incoming work requests, and ensure all committed work is delivered on time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Master's degree
- Experience working with retail or vendor-facing systems, with demonstrated understanding of how automated supply chain decisions impact vendor experience, cost-to-serve, or vendor operational outcomes
- Experience integrating buying system decision-making with downstream supply chain outcomes, including NVF forecasting accuracy, or inventory placement performance
