Employment Counsel
Location: New York, NY or Edison, NJ
Please note: Candidate must be willing to go to either office 5 days a week (this is mandatory)
Job Description
TCS seeks an employment law attorney with experience in litigating and advising on domestic employment law issues.
Responsibilities:
•Provide day-to-day proactive employment law advice, assistance and counseling
•Work with HR to help manage and respond to employee relations issues, investigations and grievances
•Create, customize and update release agreements for terminating employees
•Review disciplinary actions and terminations with HR
•Assist in managing responses to subpoenas and document requests
•Recommend, implement and continuously improve employment law related training
•Respond to administrative complaints and Department of Labor investigations
•Maintain employment law files and databases
•Respond to EEOC complaints
•Assist with employment law litigation matters
•Provide guidance to the other employment counsel and develop strategy of the employment practice.
•Manage and supervise outside counsel, as required
Qualifications:
•Minimum of 5 years of experience focused on employment law and litigation, preferably with some experience in-house.
•A law degree from a top tier law school and be in good standing to practice in any state in the United States.
•Strong analytical capabilities and judgment.
•Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
•Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team as well as cross-functionally across teams.
•Willingness to tackle matters outside area of expertise.
•Interact with HR teams and other legal team members (hence this is an office role and not a work from home role)
Salary Range: $115,000 - $160,000 a year
