Location: Copenhagen, Denmark

At Maersk, we're working to enable the transition towards net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. New fuels, evolving regulations, and changing customer expectations are reshaping our industry, and our Energy Transition team is at the heart of that transformation.

We're looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our Energy Transition Finance team and help support the financial decisions that will shape the future of sustainable shipping.

This is not a traditional finance partnering role. You'll work at the intersection of finance, energy markets, green fuels, regulation, and business transformation, partnering with stakeholders across our commercial, trading, origination, operational, and finance communities.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you'll provide financial insights and decision support across Maersk's green fuel activities. You'll help evaluate opportunities, assess risks, and ensure we make informed decisions as we scale our decarbonization efforts.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving performance management, reporting, forecasting, and planning activities
  • Conducting financial, scenario, and sensitivity analyses to support business decisions
  • Supporting financial due diligence for fuel supply agreements and new products
  • Helping stakeholders understand the financial implications of evolving fuel markets and regulations
  • Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, processes, and automation
  • Building strong partnerships across Energy Transition, Energy Markets, and Finance teams
  • Supporting the development of sustainable financial processes for emerging fuels and regulatory requirements

Who we're looking for

We're seeking someone with strong analytical and business partnering skills, combined with a genuine interest in the energy transition landscape.

You may already have experience within energy, fuels, commodities, trading, renewables, sustainability, or a related sector. Equally, you may bring strong finance experience and a track record of quickly building expertise in complex and evolving subject areas.

We're particularly interested in candidates who bring:

  • Experience in finance business partnering, commercial finance, FP&A, product control, risk, or a similar analytical role
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities
  • Experience working with data and tools such as Excel and Power BI
  • The ability to communicate complex topics clearly and influence a diverse range of stakeholders
  • A proactive, curious, and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and solving problems in a fast-changing environment

** Experience within energy markets, fuels, commodities, decarbonization, sustainability, or related industries will be a significant advantage.

Why join us?

This is a unique opportunity to work on one of Maersk's most strategic priorities and contribute to the decarbonization of global trade.

You'll gain exposure to complex commercial decisions, emerging fuel markets, evolving regulation, and senior business stakeholders, while developing expertise in an area that is shaping the future of our industry.

Ready to help drive the energy transition?

We'd love to hear from you. Even if you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply if you're excited about the opportunity and believe you can bring valuable experience, curiosity, and perspective to the team.

NB: This is an office-based role, requiring on-site presence five days per week
