Job Description

The challenges data engineers solve for at Amazon are big and affect millions of customers, sellers, and products around the world. Our path is not always simple, so we are selective about who joins us on this journey.

There is a certain kind of person who takes on this role at Amazon – someone who is excited by the idea of creating new products, features, and services from scratch while managing ambiguity and the pace of a company whose ship cycles are measured in weeks, not years. How often can you say that your work changes the world? At Amazon, you’ll say it often. Join us and define tomorrow. At Amazon, we hire the best minds in technology to innovate on behalf of our customers.

If this describes you, consider joining us as a Data Engineer.

Key job responsibilities
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of large-scale BI solutions (data models, ETL/ELT pipelines) that are robust, extensible, and scalable using AWS infrastructure.
- Develop robust code in a fast-paced DevOps environment.
- Use Python, Java, TypeScript, and SQL to create and optimize solutions.
- Continuously streamline and automate reporting and analytical processes.

About the team
We are a global science and tech team for developing optimization models for Amazon's middle mile network. We are owning the entire lifecycle of tech products from idea to production-use and deploy our tools on a worldwide basis. Our team is composed of a wide variety of tech roles including scientists, data engineers and business intelligence engineers.

Basic Qualifications:

- Experience in data engineering
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
- Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)

Amazon is an equal opportunities employer. We believe passionately that employing a diverse workforce is central to our success. We make recruiting decisions based on your experience and skills. We value your passion to discover, invent, simplify and build. Protecting your privacy and the security of your data is a longstanding top priority for Amazon.
