AbouttheRole
JoinbpShippingandhelpsupportthesafeandreliableoperationofourLNGfleet.
As an Assistant Marine Superintendent, you will work with Marine Superintendents and Vessel Managers to support marine operations,vesselassurance,regulatorycompliance,andfleetperformance.Youwillprovidemarineexpertiseacrossvesseloperationsandprojectswhilehelpingmaintainhighstandardsinsafety,navigation,cargohandling,maintenance,andassurance.
Thisroleofferstheopportunitytoapplyyourmaritimeexperienceinaglobalbusinessandcontributetothetransportationofenergyaroundtheworld.
KeyAccountabilities
- SupportthemarinetechnicalmanagementofbpShipping'soperatedfleet,includingvesselavailability,marineoperations,drydockplanning,ship/shorecompatibilityassessments,andimplementationofmarineoperatingstandards.
- Develop Marine Assurance documentationandsupportassuranceactivitiesincludingSIREinspections,incidentinvestigations,Safety&OperationalRiskAssessments,FlagStateinspections,Classassessments,correctiveactionmanagement,andshipvisitreporting.
- Monitormaritimelegislationandindustryguidance,incorporatingrelevantrequirementsintomarineprocedures,standards,andworkingpractices.
- ProvidemarineandLNGexpertisetotechnical,project,andpartnershipteamsthroughriskassessments,operationalreviews,andbusinessinitiatives.
- Supportvesselmaintenanceprogrammes,equipmentreplacementactivities,Masterappraisals,recruitmentactivities,traininginitiatives,andcadetinductions.
- Engagewithregulators,NGOs,classificationsocieties,flagadministrations,andindustrybodiestosupportshippingqualityandmarinesafety.
- FulfilarolewithinthebpShippingIncidentManagementTeam(IMT)orBusinessSupportTeam(BST)andparticipateintrainingandemergencyresponseexercises.
EssentialEducation
- SeniorMarinerCertificationorequivalentprofessionalmarinequalification.
- GasDangerousCargoEndorsement.
EssentialExperience&Requirements
- ExperienceinaseniorshipboardroleonLNGvessels.
- Experienceinamarineoperationalortechnicalroleashore.
- UnderstandingofLNGvesseloperations,navigation,cargohandling,andmarinesafetymanagement.
- KnowledgeofHSSEprinciplesandmarineoperations.
- Abilitytohandleprioritiesanddeliverresultsinachangingoperationalenvironment.
- Abilitytoanalysetechnicalissuesandidentifypracticalsolutions.
- Communicationandcollaborationskillswiththeabilitytoworkacrossteamsandinfluenceothers.
- Commitmenttosafety,continuousimprovement,anddeliveryofhighstandards.
