Position Overview:

The Marketing Analytics Engineer builds and owns the data foundation that powers Sutter Health’s marketing analytics function. Reporting to the Director of Marketing Analytics, this role designs and maintains scalable, reliable data pipelines, develops well-governed and reusable data models, and partners with the Information Systems (IS) department on shared infrastructure and enterprise standards.

This role owns end-to-end data workflows, from data ingestion and pipeline development through to semantic modeling and analytics enablement, ensuring alignment across the full data lifecycle.

This role ensures that data supporting marketing dashboards, reporting, and advanced analytics is accurate, performant, and compliant—enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Job Description:

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

• 5 years of progressive experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence architecture, or semantic modeling.
• Experience independently architecting enterprise-grade data models.
• Experience managing the application lifecycle management of tabular models.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Strong proficiency in Advanced DAX and/or SQL with experience applying SQL tin data transformation and pipeline development.

• Languages: Expert SQL; Advanced DAX; proficiency in Python.
• Tools: Deep proficiency in Tabular Editor (2 or 3), DAX Studio, ALM Toolkit, and/or Power BI Service, with experience working in modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks).
• Architecture: Expert knowledge of Dimensional Modeling (Star Schema) and Composite Models.
• Engineering: Experience with CI/CD pipelines for semantic models and Git integration, as well as supporting ETL/ELT pipelines and automated data workflows.

Pay Range is $59.02 to $88.53 / hour

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
