About the team
We are a passionate collective of book lovers, innovators, and operators dedicated to transforming the reading landscape. Our team believes in breaking down barriers to reading, creating inclusive experiences that connect authors and readers across European marketplaces. We are not just selling books; we're cultivating a global reading community that celebrates diversity, innovation, and the power of storytelling. To enable this, we work with publishing partners and authors across the globe to bring more than 40 million titles to customers, simplify the books supply chain to do this efficiently, conveniently and fast, and support Amazon's reputation in the creative industries. This role specifically leads the EU Subscriptions Team — 3 EU Product Managers, 3 EU Product Marketing Managers, 1 intern and 1 dotted line BIE report. The role is part of the EU Demand leadership team, working in close collaboration across EU Books, WW KU, finance, and legal teams to deliver profitable subscription growth.

**About EU Books** Amazon's $7B GMS European Books business bridges a range of business models: physical/digital books, self-publishing, subscriptions, print-on-demand manufacturing. Amazon has consistently played a leading role in driving innovation in the books industry from introducing eBooks to building Kindle Direct Publishing to allow authors to reach customers without a publisher. We see further opportunities to grow reading through continuing to invest in subscriptions and self-publishing, optimizing pricing strategies, improving price competitiveness and perception, and offering customers exciting deals. Upcoming innovations include AI-translations, an improved foreign language experience, internationalization of Goodreads, AI-enabled audio books, launch of Rewards/points loyalty, and AI-powered books search and discovery. Recent growth challenges include regulatory headwinds (e.g., FR Books Act, IT Culture Bonus), industry softness and a declining textbook business, and increased competition from omni-channel bookstores. We operate in a complex regulatory environment with Fixed Price Law legislation, book-specific regulations such as European Accessibility Act and FR Books Act, as well as being in-scope for wider regulations impacting EU Stores such as DMA, DSA, and European Deforestation Regulation.

Basic Qualifications:

- Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience leading teams and driving results through team members
- Experience in retail or digital content including vendor management, product management, or operations management
- Experience working in a matrixed environment, influencing strategy, and achieving goals by working across the organization
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working within a global company, with multi-country responsibilities
- Experience in e-commerce, retail or advertising
